Hi, folks. My friend has been on the treatment with doxorubicin. I know that this is a cytotoxic drug, but I have never wanted to ask my friend what type of cancer she has. I would like to know if this drug is sometimes used with other medicament or not. Can anyone tell me this? Thanks.

Hi, there. Doxorubicin (Adriamycin) is one of the most used cytotoxic drugs. It is used for lymphomas, leukemia, cancers of bladder, ovaries, thyroid gland, multiple myeloma, etc. As you can see, it has a wide field of indications. There are many regimes where it is used with other medicaments. AC regime is a combination of Adriamycin with cyclophosphamide. TAC is a combination of CA with Taxotere. ABVD stands for Adriamycin, Bleomycin, Vinblastine, Dacarbazine. There are other regimes with doxorubicin as well. As you can see, it can be used with other drugs. I hope this helps.
