I've been considering joining my schools cross country team but I'm still a little unsure. Team sports make me a bit nervous honestly; I hate feeling like I let people down. The reason I'm unsure is that I really suck at running as of now. My mile time is about 11 minutes and I can barely run half a mile without starting to walk. I'm 16 F, and 150 lbs. I don't eat too unhealthy but my lack of exercise has been showing for a while now. XC starts in the fall so I have up to then (and the summer practices the team has) to get into shape. Does anyone have tips or warnings or anything that could possibly help me out?
