I have been taking lasix for about a year and a half.
I am trying to stop but each time i stop, i bloat up and gain like 4 pounds overnight and i am so uncomfortable and tired and head-achy that i can't take it and take the lasix again.
I now have high aldostrone. My doctor wants me to take aldactone,, i did not tell him i take the lasix because i was embarrassed.
i tried that for a day, but i still gained the weight.
i do not have high blood pressure.
can you help me,,,

I would not be embarassed at all to tell the doctor - are you taking a multi vitamin with potassium in it or making sure to eat enough potassium - I recently had ane xperience where my doctor prescribed me lasiks which has caused me a whole bunch of health issues - one of which was he failed to prescribe me a potassium supplement that I needed and ended up in the ER because of his negligence - I did gain weight back as soon as I stopped taking diuretic - but wanted to mention this because of the potassium issue - I have terminated my doctor because of their negligence - I also have a heart murmur and my doctor ignored the risks of giving me the drug to begin with - just wanted to put that out there about the potassium to make sure you are getting enough because the ER ended up diagnosing me with Hypokalemia because the doctor never gave me a supplement - if you get a chance check your blood work to make sure your levels are ok - I am not a dcotor but am sharing my experience from the negligence of my doctor and the problems that can occur with Lasiks - maybe you could go back to the original doctor who prescribed the Lasiks and he or she can adjust the dosage so that it's not cold turkey kind of stopping - just wanted to share my experience because though I am not a doctor - I wanted to mention about the importance of potassium after having been diagnosed with Hypokalemia because of the diuretic the doctor gave me - with no valid medical reason to do so I might add - and yes looking to sue him and take legal action

Chlorophyll is a great substitute! It works just as good or even better than lasix. I take 5 mg daily about to go up to 8. It's a superfood so no side effects, negative anyway!:)
