Hello!
I am 44 years old woman. 2 years ago my doctor found a small nodule on my thyroid during routine check up and I underwent sonogram and there was nothing suspicious. Half year later I lost some weigh, so I went back, doctor found one more, did biopsy and everything turned out well. However, I was prescribed with synthroid. I was taking those and I have experienced some hair thinning and hair loss. Could this be because of synthroid? Thanks for suggestions!

Your doctor I guess prescribed you with synthroid in order to avoid potential risk of developing a low thyroid (an elevated TSH) or slow growth of the thyroid causing a goiter. If you would to develop goiter, that would present a very unpleasant cosmetic problem for you, that is why you were on synthroid. Yes, unfortunately, it is possible that synthroid is causing you hair loss and thinning.
