Hi, after surviving stroke in her right side of the brain my grandmother can not walk anymore and her speech is very altered. She had sever stroke in her left side of brain. What else can be expected?

As the left hemisphere of the brain controls the movement of the right side of the body, after a stroke in left part of brain patient loses ability to move in right side of body and develops speech and language disabilities. Left part of brain is responsible for reading, writing and understanding speech, so depending on area of brain effected various functions can be lost or decreased. Patient with left-hemisphere stroke often move slowly and cautiously, and need to be reminded an given instructions for many times. Memory problems are seen in all stroke survivors, with difficulty in learning new information and problems in generalizing.
