Hi, folks. My niece has been diagnosed with j. papillomatosis. I don’t know much about it, only that some lesions that resemble to warts appear in respiratory tract. I was wondering if some meds made from vitamin A may help in treating this condition. I would really appreciate if someone could answer me this.

Hi, there. Juvenile papillomatosis indeed consists of warts in the larynx. It is caused by human papilloma virus (HPV). Since it is caused by virus, the main med here is interferon. Vitamin A and its derivate – retinoids are important in normal epithelial differentiation. They can also be helpful in preventing of carcinoma. I guess they can have an important role in treating j. papillomatosis. You should consult an expert for more details. Good luck with all! Bye!
