Meloxicam is an NSAID.
I joined this site after reading the accounts of the symptoms after stopping Mobic (Meloxicam). I started 15 mg about a year and a half ago for trochanteric bursitis and reduced it to 7.5 mg about a year later and continued it to last week. My BP has been creeping steadily upwards and my clotting factor is being affected becuase when I cut myself I bleed forever.
So 5 days ago I thought I'd stop - WELL- I was OK for about 3 days, then I started having sharp pains in my shoulders, headache, felt like I was moving thru molasses in a fog and I really couldn't function very well because by the 4th day every bone in my body hurt, even my skin hurt and I had chills and my muscles felt like they wanted to cramp.. I usually sleep 8 hrs and night before last I was in bed for 16 hrs.
Today I am much better after taking V8 juice, magnesium oxide, calcium carbonate and an egg on toast. I have no idea when I'll be totally back to my self- but I'll report back here when I do. The good news is that my BP dropped right back to normal within 2 days. And I lost 3 lbs ( must be fluid retention?).
SO - I have not read in the medical literature that there are withdrawal symptoms from meloxicam, but I think I am experiencing JUST that.
