I have been using Metamucil in powder form for about three years. That was because I was diagnosed with diverticulosis. That was relief because I didn’t feel any pain, which plagued me for many years. Since I have been using this Metamucil for a long time, I would like to hear if everyone has experience like I do, and also, how this might affect with Depo provera, which I am planning to have.

It’s absolutely normal what you felt that huge relief. I had the same problem, diverticulosis, and my doctor after diagnosing this disease, prescribed me Metamucil too. Before that I had sharp pain in my lower left side, which plagued me for many years. I guess it helped me because I eliminate after every meal and do not experience those terrible pains. Metamucil works so well because it contains fibrous ingredients that are not digestible in the upper digestive tract and pass through the body undigested. Also, I hope you know Metamucil needs increased fluid intake to work. I am sure only about this drug, but about Depo, I know what is it used for, but I couldn’t find if it interact with Metamucil. I guess you may use it without problems, but anyway I would recommend you to visit your doctor and have conversation about this topic before you definitely decide. Off course, you should know that Depo provera has like all other medications many potential side effects. Each woman’s response to Depo will be different, depending on her body chemistry.
