Birth controls can pretty much mess your menstrual patterns and it may take some time for your old period patterns to return to normal. It usually takes about a month but some women may have irregularities up to a year after stopping bc pills.
Now, most of the time it is irregularities and not absence but this also has to do with your previous menstrual pattern, the one you had before you started the pills.
It is said that although you had regular periods while on bc pills, when you stop taking them, your periods were return to the pattern you had before.
It is obvious you are not ovulating due to lack of periods and if your periods were normal before you started taking the pills, you should talk to your gynecologist about checking hormonal levels and see if there’s an imbalance. You should also check your thyroid levels because thyroid gland disorders could be messing with your ovulation and make you not have periods.
