I am doing the exact same thing right now. I was on Effexor and it caused my migraines to go into overdrive and were debilitating. My dr switched me to Cymbalta 30mg 2.5 months ago and it wasn't helping at all, then she upped me to 60mg but the side effects after a month were too much. So she switched me to Wellbutrin XL. I was supposed to start the Wellbutrin and lower my dose to 30mg of Cymbalta again and take both daily for 5 days, then take Wellbutrin every day and the Cymbalta only every other day. I did pretty well with that this past week until today and a squad had to take me to the ER. My BP was 180/110, I had no mobility at all of my hands or feet for 3 hours, headache, brain zaps, etc. It was terrifying to say the least. My family dr was gone from the office before I could tell them what happened and the ER dr told me to stop the Wellbutrin and take the Cymbalta through the weekend until I can talk to my dr Monday. I have no idea what to do honestly. I hate Cymbalta and I just want it out of my system!

What was your dose of each ?

Is it OK to add Cymbalta 60mg daily to the 450mg daily I take of Wellbutrin XR? Should the Wellbutrin XR dosage perhaps be lowered to 300mg daily? Thanks!

Topamax is actually an amazing medicine however if your dr doesn’t explain the side effects that you could experience and prepare you, as well as build you up correctly. Yessss it can be a nightmare. I myself WASNT warned either and put on the wrong dose and in the middle of a store when I experienced my first full blown panic attack in which I thought I literally was dying right then and there and had Noo idea why!! Come to find out all bc of the medication. Then came the constant numbness they call “ hands,face& feet” that feels like a million needles allllll at once has “ fallen asleep times 50” However, like I said if you are built up properly and explained before hand you are aware of what to expect and there are several things that can also help counteract these to almost nonexistent till to adjust. I’ve been on it for almost 17yrs and it’s been a miracle for me. Literally!!! And I can’t tell you all the medication I have been on prior. I have a rare brain disease and spinal damage that literally makes my whole body hurt. It just takes the right dr taking their time to work with you and listen. Read about it and explain what your feeling bc it truly does work. I also know several people that this has also helped where I go at Cleveland Clinic. I thought cymbalta was definitely not to be taken by those who are bipolar. I just started cymbalta while already taking wellbutrin. I am into day four of cymbalta and I have heart palpatations, dizzyness and brain fog. However, my back pain is so bad I am going to continue, having heard that these symptoms dissipate. Sleeping now is tough with cymbalta. If it wasn't for the pain, I would have ditched cymbalta on day one. Day four and the pain is the same....

I am a 50 year old male. I have been on and off Cymbalta for a year or more. I started it for anxiety and quickly realized that it worked wonders for joint and arthritic pain. I’ve had 20+ surgeries and live with a lot of pain, but the Cymbalta made the pain drop off by 80%. The problem was that I lost almost all sexual desire and developed severe ED. Overnight gone! I stopped the Cymbalta (terrible withdrawal) and the pain came back, but so did the sex. The pain got to be too much so I bit the bullet and went back on Cymbalta. Exactly same as before, so Dr. added Wellbutrin to my Cymbalta to help with the ED. So bizarre, cause now I have sexual my desire back and can achieve a great erection (maybe better than before) but now cannot orgasm no matter what I or my wife try. It’s so frustrating cause sex is important to us both. I’ve only been on the combination for a short time, so I’ll give it a fair chance and try 60-90 days. I’ll follow up if there are changes.

I have read many experiences from other people of cymbalta making a loved one or friend manic, restless, and irritable. I've seen it in my own life, too. What is most scary is that the person on the medication believes everything is a-okay. Often it takes weeks or months before things get noticeably bad, because that's how long it takes for the cymbalta to work up to full effect.

I have been on Mirtzipine for 4 years for anxiety disorder. Then it just stoped being as efficient as it was and I had Anxiety. That drug can make someone gain weight. My sex life was good on ti. Then they put me on both Cymbalta and Mirtzapine . Been on cymbalta for 13 weeks and my sex life went to sh*t. I read about Wellbutrin that it could help increase my sec life. Has anyone experienced this?

I was put on cymbalta three months ago. .y weight gain is incredible. Nearly sixteen kilos. It makes me feel dead. Emotional blunting. Worse decision I have made as a antidepressant.
