I have been off the depo shot for almost 3 months, and i too have been battling with horrible horrible nausea. It comes and goes throughout the day, or it may last all day. Is this happening because my body is trying to get back to normal? Thanks

I have been off depo now for almost 2 months. I feel like I am going crazy! I have stomach pains/nausea in the evenings, and the moods swings are horrible. I also feel like I am pregnant, and  am not . I have been taking a womens B12, and have recently started the pill trying to get myself back to normal. If I would have known how this shot (that the doctors praise) was going to do to me I would have NEVER gotten it!!! This is horrible, and I am miserable in my own body!

I am going through this, too! I thought I was crazy, but seeing other poeple experience the same thing makes me believe it is from the shot. I was on it for about 2 years. I put on about 20 pounds so I decided I would stop and try the IUD. I was due to take my shot about 6 weeks ago. I am sick to my stomach. Everything I eat makes me feel...'salty' like a hang over. I eat a lot of vegies/smoothies, so It's not like I'm eating salty processed food. That's not it. I haven't actually thrown up but I feel like I am on the verge all the time! I have an annoying wattery mouth and a metallic taste in my mouth. :( Yuck.

You are not the only ones! I have been on my 2nd round of depo for almost exactly three months now and the hormones have been hell. For the past week I have had THE WORST digestion, nausea throughout the day, vomitting occasionally, and diarrhea. Other recent symptoms include general mental fogginess, lots of mood swings, and also an annoyingly watery mouth (not to mention nonstop spotting for the past two weeks). These symptoms seem to be more than coincidence, and it is outrageous that they have not been addressed by depoprovera or the doctors that provide it. I don't even know if I should just get the shot again just to feel better because otherwise on top of the symptoms above, my periods last for weeks at a time without birth control intervention.

I've been off the shot for 2 weeks now. I was on for around 2 years. A couple days after my scheduled date to get the shot my period came back. Very light though. And since last night I've been in and out if the bathroon throwing up, having diharea, and sharp cramp like pains. I was never informed of any dude effects except for gaining some weight would come of the depo shot. Now I'm windering if I should get on the pill to make these side effects stop

Yes !!!! Regardless of what the doctors say . I stopped the depo shot about 9 months ago and the last 3 months I have been a complete train wreck . Mood swings, nausea, fatigued, enough to make me believe I was pregnant. ( test was negative) . Recently I just started my first period and the symptoms have gotten worse I am now vomiting every morning and some days I'm so depressed I don't want to get out of bed . So , unfortunately sounds like we're in the same boat here . Almost makes me want to get back on the shot just so I don't have to experience this any longer

Yes, I stopped taking the shot in April and I have been vomiting on and off for over a month now and no one can figure out what it is. I am not pregnant.

I was due for a shot in June and decided not to get back on it because of a lot of the changes my body was going through. Acne was horrible and I spotted for 4 weeks. After not getting the shot in June I've experienced increased appetite, weight gain, and horrible nausea on and off. Still no period but I know I'm not pregnant. The doctors can say it has nothing to do with the depo but it has everything to do with it. My acne has become horrible again after it cleared up for a couple of weeks. This is the worst.

I have the same problem I got off the depo shot started feeling sick a month after and now it's doing it again. My doctor told me I shouldn't feel sick but I just don't see why it wouldn't be nomarl. I keep taking test to see if I'm pregant but they keep showing negative

Hi there I see you posted this a year ago but i was on depo for 6 years as well and this is my 3rd month coming off of it and I have had every side effect and some. Wondering if you just had to deal with it or did you find something to get rid of this annoying ridiculous withdrawal. I've never had to go through something like this and I can't even work because it hits me out of nowhere. The doctor also told me there's no such thing as withdrawal and there's nothing they can do. I'm desprate I'm done with all of it.

Omg. Yes it is from depo. I went through the same thing and my doctor was trying to convince me it was not related to depo. I was only on depo for 6 months. I gained 20-25 pounds during that time. That was the reason I stopped getting the shot. My next shot was due 6/2016. I experienced nausea, vomiting and fatigue from June to November post-depo. I couldn't ride in the car for long periods of time. I was constantly taking off work. I was extremely sick. I felt so bad for my family. I was constantly vomiting or in bed asleep. I did not feel normal until i started getting my cycle again. Lesson learned.

I was on the depo for 6 years. Iv been off it for 6 weeks. Keep getting the shakes and being low and sad. Find it hard to smile! Had cramps. No bleeding just discharge and had realllllly bad nausea to the point I can only lay in bed and not move. Im bery slim and also lost weight which im gutted about. Im either starving hungry or no appetite at all. I went on to cilest the 21 day pill and felt worse so stopped taking it. Regret ever going on the depo now!
