negative temporal artery biopsy but still prescribed Prednisone?

Hello. Prednisone is a part of therapy for temporal arteritis. The diagnosis is based on temporal artery biopsy. Since infection can be in patches or in several segments, then several biopsies are needed. Perhaps with your biopsy, a part of artery that isn’t inflamed was taken. You will go under more biopsies, I am sure. Perhaps, your doctor suspects on temporal arteritis and will take more biopsy, but he continued with Prednisone therapy just in case. Usually, inflammation lasts for 4 weeks after start of using this steroid. I hope everything will be all right. Bye!

My head wak hurting so bad yesterday that i immediately went to ermegency where they treated me wiht Predisnone which quited down after about 4 hours. After a second dose in the hospital, it had reduced significantly. Today, I, began on the same medication for two weeks, three times daily at 20mg weach. I also researched today that recent flu shots can possibly be a precusor to some of these "flare ups", all of a suden. I see my internist for scheduling for my bio[psy. Thanks Note I forgot to mention that I suffered a TIA with the same symptons on the left side of the temple in April 2004 and April 2012. Any coincidence?

How will I get a true result from the biopsy if I am on predisone when the biopsy is done.
