I've been on Depo for about 4-5 years and finally decided to get off in May 2016. I've suffered tender breast, nausea and now for the last 2 days severe pelvic pain. If I get up and walk around it feels like I just gave birth. I've taken Midol which seemed to start working after 45mims but when it wears off it feels like my pelvic abdomen area has been hit with a ton of bricks. All I can do is whine and tell myself to keep going. I wouldn't wish this pain on anyone. I wouldn't recommend Depo to any women for any reason. Help!!!!!

I was on depo for just over a year and decided to stop 2 months ago. No side effects while I was on it and never had any spotting or bleeding. After stopping though, Ive got bad cramping and constantly feeling bloated and having bad bowel movements. I also still haven't gotten my period, but I know it can take some time for my body to adjust so Im just praying it comes as soon as possible. Do you think its worth seeing a doctor, or are these symptoms completely normal? Reading other womens stories, I realise I'm pretty lucky to be only having the symptoms I have.

Hello, I have been researching this depo shot since I've been experiencing the same problems. I'm 24 years old and the shot causes you body to go in menopause.. I've been taken it for years also. I just got off of it 3 and a half months ago. My cycle came on two weeks ago and been on and off this whole month. I never had a cycle while being on the shot. I went to the ER because of the very pain that you described. The pain in the pelvic and abdominal and I had test ran and everything was fine with me. It's definitely the shot that's causing our body to go through these changes. Once mines regulate I'll never use birth control again. It has destroyed me physically and mentally.. the hot flashes are horrible, the laziness, and gaining weight is out of control. The shortness of breath and the back pains .. it's so much more .. but thank
God your not taken it anymore. We're too young to let this medicine destroy us!

I got off depo for almost a month now.I was due June 6th but I didn't because I want my period back.My boyfriend and I had so many unprotected sex since I get off depo and now I've feeling sick for two weeks now.I've been eating more,I crave and everytime I eat I puke or feel nausea.Very tired, sleepy, dizzy, very lightheaded,i feel like I'm going to passed out.Few days ago I noticed my pants it's feels tight and it hurts my lower stomach.I weighed the same but my belly feels big and painful. My smell is very sensitive too, stomach cramps, lower back pains.I feel bloated after I eat.I really don't know what's going on but I feel pregnant and I just had a baby a year ago.Hopefully it's only side effects from getting off depo.

after 3 years of the depo injection I had my last depo in sept 2015 and took 8months to get a period I have been having them for over a year now. At first every month I felt pregnant I had all the symptoms and felt things move in my belly. After about 11months of been off the depo I had a mini bleed the same week my app said I would ovulatate. This happened for 3 months then went back to normal. Now is Aug 2017 and I am having pains in my left hand side of my pelvic. Feels like a stitch About ovulation time. I also keep getting a water ingestion just after my period. My DR did a hormone test and a water sample this week both came back fine. She said because it takes two years to be fully out of the system she said I have to go back in 6months if I haven't fell pregnant. I was having reg periods but the last two months I was 5 days late which is awful because I thought I was finally pregnant. I have started doing ov tests the last 3 months all negative

Hello.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing ongoing pain and discomfort. You can try something from these to help you.

Explore alternative therapies: In addition to traditional medical treatments, some individuals find relief through alternative therapies such as acupuncture, chiropractic care, or physical therapy.

Pain management techniques: Explore various pain management techniques, such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, or mindfulness practices. These techniques may help you manage and cope with the pain.

Support groups: Consider joining support groups or online communities where you can connect with others who may have similar experiences. Sharing your concerns and learning from others who have gone through similar situations can provide emotional support and helpful insights.

Seek a second opinion: If you're still experiencing persistent pain and your current healthcare provider has been unable to provide a satisfactory resolution, it may be worth seeking a second opinion from another qualified healthcare professional.

Hope this helps.
