Hey guys my name is destiny. I would really like to reach out to all women out there and discuss my own issues. When i was just turning 17 i was put on ortho cyclen for my skin issues. Having sensitive skin as well as acne prone skin was definitely a toll on myself within the emotional levels of my state, self confidence, we've been there unless you are just purely blessed with amazing genes. Unfortunately we are not always going to remain in the perfect form or shape as we strive to remain healthy in all aspects. I'm currently really wanting to switch to yazmin. Ive been looking and reading results and posts from other women and the majority seems pretty happy. Now i also want to give you all a warning about antibiotics that are specially taken for skin. Months after on ortho i went to a different doctor who prescribed me a generic brand of tetracycline called minocycline. MINOCYLCINE. PLEASE READ THIS. DO NOT, I REPEAT NOT TAKE THIS DRUG. The ingredients they make the capsule alone out of is vial. Definitely not something u should be consuming on a daily basis. I significantly changed my diet around the same time i started this drug(minocycline while still taking the birth control) now months after the birth control I didnt even see much of a improvement... weeks later after taking the minocyline my skin started to perfect itself. I experienced dizzyness, and nausea for the first two months untill this subsided about 70%. I was extremely hapy with the results.. i mean who wouldnt be right? After being chemically burned by proactive, having so many alergic reactions to all these topical products i thought my life was complete. Im 19 now.. last summer i started feeling more pain in my stomach than usual, i had cronic constipation since i was 8 so already a bad digestive track which actually takes a toll on your skin as well. I went back to the same doctor who was prescribing me the tetracycline, he then prescribed me medication for ibs... i took it for a little and didnt bother with it for so long cuz the idea of all these prescriptions was a hassle for me, i was looking into more natural ways, remedies for stomach issues... i was hospitalized for over a week, the doctors told me go to yoga and it was my struggle as a person with diet, and mood, when i was getting plenty of exercise and eating organic. Later afterwards a few months... i started getting dizzy more often, started vomiting... another month later vomiting began to move more rapidly, more often. Started loosing dramatic weight. I also started experiencing immediate nausea after taking the pill, started to actually vomit very shortly after taking my daily dosage. My ankles started swelling i developed lots of fluid and swelling within my legs and the rest of my body.. I then began to have the most severe stomach pain u could possibly imagine... couldnt even get out of bed.. couldnt eat.. i had to smoke weed in the morning at least a few hits to get something down. Started fainting, out of breath. I was then hospitalized.. my blood count was at an 8, the hospital wouldnt discharge me. I was given a blood thinner every day, was in excruciating pain, couldnt even stand to long in the shower without passing out. The second day i was hospitalized my bf actually started researching the medication and what its caused in other girls, and medications alike it. There are cases where girls have died, went blind, and experienced massive health issues. All these problems are linked to this medication...all the while i had no idea it was all being cause by this awful drug...the infectious disease doctor even provided a statement in my paperwork "long term use of this medication minocycline" caused the type of anemia i developed.. the blood work specialist couldnt find a link, i went through a bone marrow biopsy and they couldnt pin point what was happening to my body, we expressed to them that we pieced together it was this drug... after the certain treatments i endured there i went home with massive pain meds after two weeks the hospsital released me. Two nights later i fainted. The hospital later called my bf and told him to check myself in immediately instead of transferring me over to another hospital like they should of. After taking the pill night two at the hospital and immediately vomited it i learned my body started rejecting it and i knew this had to be it.I was experincing hepatitis like symtoms, diabetic symptoms but it was neither of those.. I was on an antibiotic for almost three years. I was never told i needed blood work done every month to monitor myself while on the medication. I was never told you eventually need to stop taking this medication. Theres also a separate pamphlet with the rest of possible side affects aside from what they give you at Walgreens in which i never received... I didnt have health insurance at the time, i applied and was still pending which made it absolutely hell into getting a hospital to keep me. I kept fainting, having muscle spasms... i was refused to be taken in and evaluated, every doctor sent me home.. at the time i was then trying to build up my strength with foods with lots of iron.. but my feet started to swell and i experienced excruciating nerve pain. I passed out on the train and was then taken to a hospital up north. The doctor claimed he suspected it to be a viral infection, they later diagnosed me with neuropathy, sent me home cuz of my pending insurance with heavy medications. The pain was still severe for months after, i was waking up at 3 am screaming cuz the nerve damage was the worst thing in my life. My feet were so swollen it was painful to walk. I weaned myself off the gabapentin cuz it just wasnt doing anything to help what so ever.. slowly started breaking it down cuz i read online its way awful to just suddenly stop taking it, your body and mind will completely be bewildered. I started to smoke medicinal marajuana beleive it or not the nerve damage was completely gone within a month and a half to two months. I can walk again and started to finally piecing back my life together. Note to all you women out there ..doctors need to get paid, take everything with caution, do your research. All these complications were simply due to me feeling so self conscious because of my skin conditions, a doctor took advantage, obviously wasnt familiar with the usage or time period at that of the drug. I actually have six more prescriptions of the medication if i wanted to go pick it up. ( as of now) absolutely disgusting. After stopping the minocycline i started developing acne within my chin, an itching and burning sensation, I started going to a dermatoligist, one of the best here in chicago, and recently started a microdermabrasion. The technician took a look at me and informed me it is indeed a type of dermatitis as well which is why im experiencing the inflamation, and pain, and discomfort. Since ive noticed this problem developed right after i stopped the minocycline and remembering that ortho didnt do much for me alone.. before i started to take the antibiotic with it, im ready to try yazmine starting next month, and continue with my skin treatments and remaining my healthy diet of course. At this point bennedrill helps with the discomfort and itching from time to time. Please ladies dont risk your life over some skin issues, we are all so valuable and worth more than being taken advantage of by someone who can't do simple research(doctors need to know this stuff) and it took this awful experience to realize its not worth risking your life over. Find something safe, im still on ortho as of now cuz i dont want my condition to get any worse, but im ready for a change that just might work for me.
