Can you tell me whether or not minocycline is a usual medication used to treat autoimmune hepatitis? If so, can you give me more specific details too? What is the dosage, and on what does that depend? How does mincocycline work in battling autoimmune hepatitis? Does it slow down the immune system, or might it be given for another reason?

Minocycline is absolutely not used to treat Autoimmune Hepatitis. As a matter of fact, it is suspected as a trigger for AIH. Be sure you are seeing a hepatologist, a physician who specializes in the treatment of liver diseases. The usual treatment for AIH is Prednisone and an immunosuppressant such as Imuran.
