I've been taking oxycontin for 2 years now and i recently tried to stop. I've had horrible withdrawals which include but not limited to the following:

1. Body temperature changes.
2. Body aches all over.
3. Restlessness. Especially my legs.
4. My feet and lower legs feeling like they are on fire.
5. Depression.

I went a week without taking any oxycontin and it was hell then I started taking them again and all the above went away immediately.

Although it will take some time, I believe that I can get through this on my own but I'm very concerned about my feet and legs feeling like they are on fire (mostly my feet).

Has anyone else had this problem? and if so, does it get better with time?

Help please!

Thank You,

Fool

Before switching the patch I went through w/d a few times on the oxy, and I had the same symptoms as you, excpet it was like my knees lower legs and thighs were on fire at the same time someone was hammering needles into them, the only comfort I got was when I took hot showers, as hot as I could stand it, I also read that in some cases benadryl can help take the edge off and help you get some sleep. I havent sleept or ate anything since thrusday (2-5-09), I have dropped 13 pounds about and am miserable, this time I dealing with w/d from the patch. Good luck.
