Hello! Although Ritalin patch has been approved recently, it is still not known where you can get it. You have to talk to your child’s physician who has been prescribing him the drug in the first place. They should receive all the necessary information from the manufacturer as soon as the drug becomes available.
It has been reported that the patch works much better than the oral form and with less side effects. The patch is named Daytrana and is worn for 9 hours. It is easily removed if the child starts experiencing negative side effects. It is made for children age 6-12, who have problems taking the pills. It will be available in doses 10, 15, 20 and 30 milligrams.
Although it is said that the patch causes fewer side effects, the drug is very potent and will be having warning labels about the dangers that make occur. These include insomnia, nausea, and decreased appetite but could go as far as hallucinations or stroke in rare cases.
I also heard that there will be plenty of commercials on TV once the drug becomes available.
