I am 14 and have had this problem for as long as I can remember, I have not been to see a doctor yet although i may in the near future. My problem is that my foreskin seems red just at the tip and does not pull back over the head of my penis, it still functions fine and I can urinate and masturbate but I am mainly worried that it will affect sexual intercourse in the future or may lead to further problems. Your help is much appreciated.

Hi Guest,

It's NORMAL for your foreskin to not retract, up until about 16 or so.

Stretch it.  You can either spread the opening with your fingers OR get an erection and pull down on the shaft skin so that the glans stretches the foreskin open.  Skin grows by stretching.  You don't have to hurt yourself but there can be some discomfort.  The more you do it the faster it will stretch.

You WILL find the head of your penis to be sensitive, that's normal too.

Hope it helps.

I don't know why your foreskin is red at the tip. It apparently is not creating a problem.

This is a good time to start stretching your foreskin to make it retractable.

You are normal for your age. Your foreskin is still developing. You can help it develop by stretching it.

When your penis is erect, gently pull your foreskin back against the head of the penis. As the head attempts to pass through the foreskin it will stretch the skin a little. Do this every day and in a few weeks or months your foreskin will widen and you will be able to retract your foreskin. Do NOT force retraction.

It works by tissue expansion. Stretching skin induces “mitosis” which is a word that means “division of cells”. New skin cells are formed and the skin expands. The increase in size is permanent. Be patient and let mitosis do its work.

The important thing is to put the skin under tension every day so that it will grow wider.
