hi, so over the past few moths iv been having very irregular periods, last month i was 2 weeks early which did worry me a little, but now im a week late. i have been having regular protected intercourse over the past month with bf .i am 17 and havnt exactly been in best health for the past year, my body crashed about 4 months ago due to an extreme lack of iron, stress and over work.i assume this is a contributing factor.
now i am panicing should i go see my doctor, could i be pregnant or is it just down to stress etc....

Hi:
Any of the things you've mentioned could be a possibility. Are you an athlete? If not, what caused your iron deficiency? If by regular "protected" sex, you mean condoms....They are not as reliable as chemical methods, i.e. pills, etc. Condoms have to be use correctly too....Stress can have overwhelming effects on your body. Are you being treated for those conditions now, or could those things still be factors. Yes, you should see your doctor to confirm that you are actually healthy. The panic is really not good. If this is all stress related, the panic is contributing to your irregularity. However, you need solid answers. Don't wait around...Get to a doctor for some answers and for a plan to get healthy. You should also have a pregnancy test.....If you are pregnant and iron deficient, etc. that would be very bad for your baby. ...Take care of yourself.....Let us know.

yeah this is very common, especially when your period changes. A friend of mine had in regular periods, sometimes she would get her period 2 weeks before me and other times she would miss her period but ended up getting her period 2 weeks after me.. This isn't something to worry about if you still get your period in that month. Hope I helped :-)

Hi:
How are you doing now? Did you have any of the testing that was suggested? I hope that you have not experienced anymore "crashes." Are you still having issues with anemia? I hope that things have gotten better for you. Was pregnancy an issues? If so, how are you feeling about that? I'm sure that you have some answers by now. Please let me know what you've learned. I am anxious to hear from you. Take care
