Period is heavy then stops, few hours later is back and heavy, no clumps like usual, what is wrong?

I am 27 years old, and have been having periods for years. However this one is different. It started almost 5 days ago now and when it started it was extrememly heavy and then by that night was completly gone. It did not start again till the next morning when it was heavy again and then a few hours later it was gone again. It has continued to do this from the first day of it, and there has not been any clumps in it like usual. Also on the 3rd day of it I expierenced extreme naseau and had a very hard time not throwing up, that only lasted a few hours and was gone until yesterday when all of the sudden out of the blue the horrilbe naseua started again and I felt very heavy. A few hours later the naseau ended and I have not had it again yet. My Husband and I have been hoping this might mean I am pregant but we are afraid to take a test due to disapointments over the years. We have 2 children, however the last time I was pregnant in 2004 it turned out to be a tubal and my tube ruptured and we lost the baby. :'( They had to remove half of my right tube due to that and my other tube has scar tissue clamped around it from my c-section in 2001. My OBGYN that was there during my tube surgery said that I have a 50-50 chance of being able to become pregnant due to the condition of my tubes now. Needless to say we have been trying since 2004 to concieve and have pretty much given up now. What could be wrong with me? I have always had small clumps of blood shed during my period and with this period i haven't had any. What do ya'll think could be wrong? Does anyone else have a period like this? I have never had one like this.... :-( :-( :-( :-(
