First I am 26 and have ALWAYS had very regular periods with the exception of this time around. In Dec I was rear ended plus my fiance (almost 3yrs) and I have had some problems so I have been a bit stressed but today is day 13 on this period. I am taking YAZ 28 and have never had any problems with it. I have been on it for about 8mo. My periods normally last 4-5 days with out a problem. When I start the white pills I normally start my period on the 3rd day and on about the 2nd or 3rd day of starting the new pack I'm done. This time I started spotting 3 days before I started on the sugar pills once I started on those it got really heave and cramps have been horrific. Now I am almost done with the first week of the new pack and it is like I have just started. There are also large clumps that are discharged sometimes. I have no idea what could be going on or if this could be normal due to the stress and trauma. I asked the Dr that I'm seeing due to the accident and she said it was probably due to stress and my ob/gyn is on vacation. I don't have any insurance so it is freaking me out a bit.

If you were pregnant, you'd probably have additional symptoms.
Women who experience physical trauma like you have can get irregular, painful periods like you're describing. This is probably due to some trauma around your pelvic area, or it could be caused by stress or something else related. I know this probably isn't what you wanted to hear, but wait until your OB/GYN gets back and see him/her.

ok first off I'm 17 years old nothing tramatic has happened thus far, it is now 10:30 pm of the 13th day of my period! I didn't have a period in Feb so I expected my period to be a bit heavier this happens quite frequently I don't have a period one month and the next I do, I can deal with that but this time theres so much blood coming out at once I'm changing tampons every 2 hrs! Then the cramps started I normally get horrific cramps which I did at first but then throughout I started getting sharp knife stabbing pains in my ovaries to the point I couldn't even stand up! Then the blood started coming out in massive clumps all at once! Idk what to do! I'm pretty scared! Please help- Thank you-Britnee

I am 15, I'm on birth control and I normally have heavier periods, but I never get cramps before my period. This time I am, but I start my period in 3 days. Is this normal?
