Following up my post re vaginal bleeding 2 wks after steroid injection. I had to have 4 internals in all - the last one being a hysteroscopy which showed up 2 polyps which were cut of whilst having this and two biopsies, one for polyps and done for lining of the womb which has thickened. Luckily results for cancer came back negative. I am 73 & have not felt right since the steroid injection, also had fungal skin infection under breasts and cellulitis which may not be connected. Iwould not mind, but my hip is still causing pain!!

Same thing happened to me after a cortisone injection in my shoulder. A few weeks later I started cramping and bleeding. I had gone through menopause 10 years earlier, I couldn't believe it. My mom suggested it was from the cortisone, since that is a hormone. I looked it up on the CDC website and found that it is not uncommon. My periods came every 28 days for three more months, then I went though a round of hot flashes all over again. Never again will I get a cortisone shot.

I have had alot of plastic surgery in the past 2 years. 14 weeks ago I had smart lippo on my arms. I had swelling so 2 weeks ago my Surgeon gave me a few injections of cordizone in my right arm. Exactly 7 days later after having nausia and dizzy spells I had bleeding like a period that just finished today ...7 days total.. I am post med .. havnt had a period for 7 years . I'm 53 years old so to say the least was very upset.... Yesterday my GYN gave me a painful biopsy he said I was bleeding from my uterous. I will have the results back next week. If things come back clear from all my test I will know this happend from these injections. I am very healthy but have had issues with water retention which is causing me higher blood pressure just in the past year..so I'm now on meds to control both. It's interesting that high blood pressure and water retention is a possible side effect from cordizone...I have been getting regular limphatic massage thinking the swelling was just related to surgury now am thinking it's the cordizone as I have had a few smaller injections prior to this one Related to my surgerys. I am also thinking after reading this blog that my results may turn out OK... no more Of this stuff for me. Just not worth it... We all have simular story's and are not crazy. Someone better listen to us....A warning from the drug company would be nice ..dosnt seem like anybody is listening and is clueless... I will post back after I get my results... so sorry for everyone who has been thru this. Also why in the world dosnt the GYNS give some serious pain medicine prior to having a biopsy. .. It is excruciating pain. I have a very high tolerance .. never complained thru a tummy tuck facial injections even having a 10 pound baby but found this this worse pain I have ever had.... just don't get any of this...

Good read from the Dr Levy! It needs to be studied and included that post med woman can have bleeding from the uterous as well because in this case insurance company's are paying for needless test because we don't know...and alot of worry and pain....also I didn't relize I needed to study up on an injection that seemed to be no big deal ..an anti inflammatory ... that being said I will be more proactive from this point on . I feel that woman need to sign off after reading a full disclosure before this is administered And sent home with the list od possible side effects.

It appears by the responses on here that no one with those symptoms actually had the big C word. I have read over 300 posts on this subject so far on several different sites and not one person responded that they actually had cancer with all the classic "period" hormonal changes along with a menses type bleeding. {tender breasts, cramping, mood changes. acne, etc}
I am going through the same thing right now, just really suck right now because we are getting ready to leave on vacation, of COURSE I would get a period after 2 years of being period free??? I had no idea that Medrol Dose paks cause this type of issue, or I would of waited until I got back. UGH...good luck ladies :{

Pain management in this country as a whole is a joke! Partly because of the DEA [ghestapo] tying the hands of MD's and pharmacies to administer or supply pain medications to patients who are NOT terminal in this country. Many chronic pain patients can not find a doctor to prescribe or a pharmacy to fill their prescriptions because of the knee jerk reactions by federal law enforcement in the country. Very sad and unnecessary..you should of had at least a local of lidocaine at the VERY minimum but yes I agree a biopsy is a horrifically painful procedure and its almost medical negligence to not give you something to address your pain during the procedure!

I'm so glad I found this site
I'm 58 have not had a period since I was in my mid 40's
Two weeks ago I had a steroid shot for a sinus infection with asmatic bronchitis
Two days ago I started light spotting
Yesterday it was more like a light period
I also had developed a yeast infection from two rounds of antibiotics
I called the Drs office and was advised to take a monistat treatment for the yeast infection which I did and it relieved the yeast infection issues however I'm still bleeding
I will call dr on Monday and follow up
At the time I'd asked if it could have been caused by the yeast infection but had not thought about the steroid shot
Anyway the nurse said she'd never heard of yeast infection causing bleeding
Naturally I've been freaking out thinking the worst
Now after reading so much here and also other sites I feel a little calmer
I will still follow up with my dr on Monday
Thanks to all of you that have shared

I too have had numerous steroid injections followed by post menopausal spotting. Luckily, my paps have come back normal after a check up. I'm not sure why we're not told of this side effect.

Same thing happened to me. Post menapausal for 3 years, on HRT's and got a steroid shot in my hip. Then 3 days later I start dark light bleeding. Likewise, I'm happy to see these posts. Cheers!

Instead of using monostat for yeast infections try using apple cider vinegar, one ounce mixed with distiller water. Works WAY better then the stuff they sell. And it doesn't cost anywhere near as much! Plus it's not embarrassing to buy at the counter.
