seroquel and abilify

I took 5mg of abilify and 200 seroquel at bedtime.. my new doctor took me off the seroquel and put me on doxepin for sleep a week ago. I have not slept but 3-4 hrs a night.

Could you briefly describe your hideous side effects without feeling like your privacy has been invaded? I was on seroquel, but it made me a drama queen. I'm getting off and going to Abilify, but now I'm manic :(

Abilify is not a sedative... it's supposed to help stop the sleeping all the time. My dr has taken me off seraqual just for the abilify... bipolar also

I recently have been put on 5mg Abilify. I was previously on 500mg seroquel but its made me put on loads of weight so they're slowly taking me off it and introducing Abilify slowly into my system. I have to take the Abilify in the morning and seroquel at night (since ive been put on abilify they have reduced my seroquel to 400mg per night). I find the abilify makes me very alert and sometimes nauseating i barely eat during the day now because of it. But an hour after taking seroquel, i feel so hungry (lol)

Hi. I have schizoaffective disorder and take 600mg Seroquel + 30mg Abilify at bedtime, no issues except a little tachycardia about an hour after I take it. I've only been on this a couple of months but it seems to help... I'm treatment resistant and have been on everything, so my pdoc finally agreed to antipsychotic polypharmacy.

I am putting this out there. Not sure of her dosages either. But here goes. My sister was on seroquel, lexapro,then her dr added Abilify to her meds. We lost her a few months later. Not an overdose. They stated intoxication. Seratonin syndrome. Her doctors failed to listen or watch her because she was "sick" to them, pay attention to side effects please. Don't dismiss anything. It could be your life. It's been almost 4 years since she died. She was only 36.

I started Abilify yesterday. 5 mg. I also take Seroquel for sleep, but today my Doc called and said to try not to use the Seroquel if I didn't have to. How am I going to sleep without it? My insomnia is already horrible. What is the danger? ODing? If so, no worries there. I never mix the drugs. If I can't sleep and the pills aren't working, I wait at least 2 hours before adding something else. I see so many of you on here. Liver damage perhaps? If so, that's already a done deal.

I had thyroid cancer and the initial treatment destroyed my body. I have to have all of my teeth worked on, as they have crumbled over the years.

It would have been nice to have some warning there that my life would change forever, but it's time to let go of my anger at my surgeon for not prepping me.

Thank God I have a great Doc and a supportive husband.

Comments, please? I'm taking 5 mg abilify in the morings, and 150 mg seroquel to sleep at night.

And I feel better after 2 doses. Perhaps it's finally having hope. Doc said I should be myself again in a few weeks. I don't even know what myself means anymore! :)
