Severe Abdonimal Pain that went away, then days later large blood clumps and red watery disharge

I've been on birth control pills for years. Currently on Apri. This last period started late, but half-way through I experienced severe pains on the left side from the front of my lower abdomen to my back. It was almost like a dull pulling pain, with intermittent stabbing pains. The period flow was average during the painful part. Now it's been three days after starting back up on the active part of my pill and each day I am having large clumps of sticky discharge, and very thin red discharge filling the super pads.
Anyone ever experienced these large clotty things (usually 2-3 at a time about the size of 2 TBSP to 1/4 cup each) after the period supposedly should be done?

I was wondering if maybe I had a cyst that burst or endometriosis? Overall, I'm generally healthy, active and eat well and I am in a normal weight range.

I'm due for my annual pap to get my pills refilled and am currently looking for a new doctor. I'd like to know that this is somewhat normal prior to going in and talking to a new doctor that I do not have a relationship with.
