Every month, around 4-5 days before my period, my vagina gets really itchy and irritated for about a week and then it goes away about half way through my period. Could this be a side effect to the pill? What can I do about it? Sex during this time hurts like hell, and it itches literally all week nonstop. I can't stand it, but I don't want to go off the pill because the last time I tried, all my acne that had been cleared up came back worse, and I'm one of those people who have tried EVERYTHING for acne and the only success i had was with the BC pill, Alesse.

This sounds so frustrating. I sympathize with you. What did you find out? This does not sound like it is related to the BC pills. Otherwise, it seems like these symptoms would be ongoing. It sounds more like this is a symptom of some hormonal balance, perhaps during ovulation. However, the timing doesn't seem correct for that. Why do you chose to have sex during that time if it is so painful. You can say no. I hope that you have seen a doctor by now. Please let me know what you found out. This seems really unusual. The same thing happened to me, pretty much a month after taking the pill. Also my labia majora changed and became harder during this time. I stopped the pill on the 6th March.. fingers crossed things return to normal
