ON 12/8/15 had a cortisone shot in Right knee from PCP at 8 am. In a class that night was asked if i felt OK. ( they have know me a long time) on morning of 12/9/15 felt a bit nauseated but went to work. Husband said " perhaps you should not go today " I drove and at about 10 am I suddenly felt VERY dizzy passed out while driving and smashed into a large tree. I have no memory of crash. My car was totaled and I got 7 fractures had to have 3 surgeries. later asked PCP if related issue and he said " no ". I have never had anything like this before and was quite fit going to gym 4 x week. I am amazed at how this seems to be a repeating theme and no one is talking about it. NO more cortisone for me ever again as i ma lucky to be alive.P

I had a cortisone shot in each knee in January and everything seemed good. In April I had two more shots and after that I started having tremors in my fingers and then in my jaw and legs. They started slowly and at first I didn't associate it with the shots, but now I'm wondering if they were the cause. They just came out of the blue. I can't get an appt with the neurologist for three months and it's very scary. I'm glad I found this forum. I read a couple of messages from others that had shakiness, or trembling - probably the same as me. So I'm hoping that it's a result of the shot and not a neuro problem. Has anyone else had tremors?

I've had symptoms of hyperglycemia: fatigue, thirst, urinary frequency, nighttime urination, and I've lost 6 pounds since I had the steroid injection in my shoulder 3 days ago. In addition, I haven't slept at all, feel jittery and dizzy, with tremors and palpitations, which all sounds like an adrenal issue. I've had multiple steroid injections in the past in my knee, back, and other shoulder with only mild side effects. I got this shot because I'd been having so much trouble sleeping due to the pain from my frozen shoulder that I haven't slept well for weeks. The injection has relieved a lot of the shoulder pain but now I've gone from 2 or 3 hours of sleep a night to ZERO, I feel like I'm vibrating all night long. I called my doctor today and asked for a sleep aid, specifically I asked for the strongest sleep aid he can give me without killing me. I've tried every sleep inducing drug I have in my house including the prescription medications for pain that were knocking me out cold after I had my shoulder surgery 5 weeks ago, they've had no effect. I can't tell if feeling so loopy is another side effect of the injection or the result of not sleeping for so long. I have no concentration and can't stay on task, I can start a sentence and forget mid-sentence what I was going to say.

Hi Sleepless - I don't think we're the only two people who've developed tremors after a steroid injection. I've recently gotten some help from acupuncture but still waiting to see the neurologist. I guess we'd both like to know if it'll pass when the steroids leave the body. It's hard to get any info about that. And of course all the MDs say it can't be from the shot. Yes, it's very scary.

I faint when getting steroid injections AS WELL AS when having the steroids absorbed into the skin through pads with electro stimulation. If you also pass out with topical application, you are likely having a reaction to the medication and need to make sure your doctor and therapists know.

I had a cortisone shot in my knee a week ago. About 4 days after, my throat and tongue started burning like I drank acid. My lips feel weird too. It's making me feel very anxious. Nothing helps it. The most relief I got was drinking warm water and honey about 50/50. Everything I have read says cortisone doesn't cause this, but it's the only thing that I have done and it's my first cortisone shot
. And, by the way, my last. I am allergic to iodine and I'm wondering if Thea's any connection.. We are not crazy and the medical community needs to take this seriously. Obviously, ther's something to this.
