Wow...you've gone through alot. I had one in the shoulder today, it hurt worse than labor and I passed out. Came to in about 3 minutes but took a good 30 to be able to leave The Drs. The numbing agent has worn off and its a little sore & I have a slight headache now but that's about it.

I too, had a depo medrol 80mg shot in the glutes for bursitis in my shoulder 7 weeks ago. Insomnia, anxiety, crying jags, sensitive to light and sound, muscles twitching all over, feelings of disconnection, headaches, shakey, dizzy, elevated BP (now on beta blocker) and rapid heart rate when I eat or try to sleep... up every night until 2 or 3. my general Dr (not the othor who gave me the shot after knowing me for 4 minutes) doesn't believe it's related. I cried to her and she told me "it's out of your system in 48 hours". Well, it's likely out of my system, but it put my adrenal glands out of commision and my poor body thinks it's in fight or flight all the time. Google the HPA axis and it will give you some info. Our bodies are brilliantly engineered machines. I should have never allowed this injection to enter my muscle (and hence to spread through my entire blood stream). Never again. And I'm not taking the Zoloft she prescribed either! Remember all my fellow sufferers - THIS TOO SHALL PASS!!!

Wow! You are lucky and great that you had caring people around you in such moment!!!
I received Cortisone shot in Bellevue Bone & Joint Physicians and fainted after 1-2min. Nobody was present in the room, so I wallow on my own for a few minutes. Then I called for a help. Somebody came, offer me a water, said that I'll be fine and I draw home...
What an experience!

Fran,

How are you doing since your injection? I'm right where you are now when you wrote this - coming up on nine months. It makes me cry when people or doctors tell me that I don't know what I'm talking about, and that it would be out of my system. The implications is that you're making things up (which is funny because most of the symptoms like hair loss, weight distribution, skin mottling, etc. you can physically see.)

I have been getting these shots in my knees and back for several years. Had both knees injected yesterday and have felt like I was dying, the worst side effects so far. Nausea, vomiting, severe hot flashes, chills, dizziness, weakness, vision changes, anxiety, etc. I have been getting these shots for years and these have affected me more than before. I just read that they can cause gastritis which is probably what I am experiencing with my stomach issues. Am begging what can be done to avoid third hell. I'm thinking it is time for knee replacements. I bought some nausea Med., but the other issues are unbearable. Any suggestions?

3-4 days after a cortisone shot, I ended up with rash around the torso and lower legs. The rash was itchy as well.

I have psoriatic arthritis and take an injectible; but was feeling bed from a virus and was given a cortisone shot. Not sure if this is an issue of polypharmacy or a real reaction to the cortisone?

It's crazy I'm going through the same thing. In and out of the doctor's office. I lost partial eyesight in my left eye from fluid buildup in my corneum my ophthalmologist told me it was from the steroid shot so, I called the doctor who gave me steroid shot and he said it wasn't from the shot. I lost 16 pounds of muscle, 184 lb of solid muscle in the gym 5 days a week I'm down to 168 and can barely do 10 push-ups. I also have an aggressive rash on my back that itches and it doesn't go away. I am weak and nauseous cramping just to name a few. I used to run 4 miles three times a week now it's a task just to walk. Smh
