Side Effects Of Cortisone Injections

I had a cortisone injection yesterday in my knee, still hurts like hell. and this morning i was awaken in pain and feeling very funny. My tummy is upset, sick to my tummy, my body feels like it fluttering, i want to sleep have a headache from hell. What can or what should I do?

Dear Guest: hopefully you are feeling better by now, if you are still sick to your stomach with headache and “weird” feelings.... please report your symptoms to your Dr. ask for a follow up . I had several severe reactions, an ER visit asap for worsening pains/symptoms or Benadryl, stay hydrated and rest.

First one ever today. Had it injected through the top of my foot....ouch. I am usually excellent with needles and pain. I got so faint and nauseous and not. I ALMOST fainted. I noticed today I was very irritable and moody, feeling off and kinda sick. Suppose that’s normal? Ah, and the pain after injection was rough. The cortisone didn’t hurt today but it was the numbing needle that did it. Oh man. I could feel that thing deep inside my foot hitting nerves ... after i felt like the needle was still inside. A weird pain. Assuming because it went through some muscle or because he hit nerves?

I had cortisone injection 4 days ago. I am suffering from intense headache, hiccups, upset stomach, dizzy spells, lethargy, insomnia and maybe a slight amount of depression. I hope mine doesn't last the six weeks you have been suffering.

I just had my (first ever) cortisone injections, 5 days ago, one in each knee. He informed me of the possible side effects, mainly the sweating (I already soak my clothes & bed every night from menopause & PTSD). Anyway, that happened & it was the worst ever, day 2 & 3. Days 3-5 (today), I've had odd side effects. My urine became cloudy, dark & smelled awful. I was hydrated and continued to stay that way. However, nothing I drink helps. My hands are extremely dry and cracked. It's like the injections sucked the life out of me! I suppose the 2 days of SEVERE sweating caused the dehydration. But WOW... do my knees feel better!

Same here 6 months past and still have tinitus dizziness headaches and weird sensations on my brain like you said mine are burning headaches

So, it is 2/24/19 I’ve responded to various similar complaints of persons suffering from the severe reactions related directly to their steroid injections and the lasting affects they continue to experience. I myself having personally experienced several horrific reactions and still with pain in multiple joints and body/bone areas; now it’s my elbow. I’ve been diagnosed with tennis and golfers elbow( as if , I can barely walk or go shopping) but 3 Drs could ONLY offer steroid injections and tell me , “well YOU don’t want that” I don’t want it I can’t have it,! Admit me to the hospital and do research on me and I’ll do it, b/c it will nearly kill me! So they call me complicated........ I’m a victim of the corrupt pharmaceutical and relationship with probably well compensated physicians who push these meds, despite the severe reactions that they all deny is related, so I’ve not heard of any lawsuits so far, it’s time, it’s over time; can someone please help us afflicted with pain and no alternatives provided , as you know the “ opioid crisis” has taken away other meds to deal with the pain, and remember pain is the 5 th vital sign! Pay attention people get ready to fight I think I’m going to have to yell louder now!!!!!!

I am still experiencing facial flushing, and stinging of my face, and it is sometimes itchy. I am not experiencing headaches. I had the injection over 2 weeks ago

I really feel sorry for all the poor people affected by cortisone shots! I've had over 4. They helped me tremendously with no side effects!

Sounds like agoraphobia. Often comes on when driving. I've had it for 30+ years. Gets better. Most docs can't diagnose it.
