Yesterday I had my second in series of three injections for a massive keloid as a result of an abdominal appendectomy. Last time it left me wired the rest of the day and all night long.
This time I was hung over this AM as though too much partying last night and my face feels like it is on fire. When I checked it in the mirror my cheeks are red as though somebody put too much blusher on.

Wow! I had my shot in my rt shoulder 6 weeks ago and still suffering all those side effects. My doctor thought it was anxiety and depression as well. I pleaded to her that its not just depression. My lightheaded feelings are the worst. She finally said its very possible the shot has created all these issues. Im desperately waiting for it to pass.

I am struggling figuring out if anyone went back to normal as well. I got a cortisone injection in my ankle December 13th of last year and I still have side effects. I gained 30 pounds so suddenly and it has all accumulated in my stomach, face, upper arms, and thighs. My stretch marks are awful! I went from a size 9 jeans to size 14, even though 14 doesn't even fit right because I'm mainly just bloated and they look awful on me. This whole year has been hell. My anxiety and depression got even worse, I was straight paranoid for awhile to the point I'd cry from fear of things happening and always look over my shoulder. I also kept bleeding irregularly and having really bad kidney infection like pain to go with it and went to the doctor a few times to try to figure out what was wrong with no answers! This was my first ever cortisone injection and I will never get another. I just hope to God it will leave my system. It's been over a year now. I'm starting to break out pretty badly so I'm hoping it is finally leaving. I'm also hoping I will be back to my normal weight because I don't think I could handle knowing this happened to me and that I can't fix it.

I had a cortisone injection in my shoulder Monday + ago and 3 hours post injection, I had, insomnia, excitability, shaky, and a post cortisone injection headache which was the worse, since. Unfortunately, I forgot and used a heating pad immediately this time instead of ice. I also had hot flashes and chills. Today is Wednesday, day 3 and I still have a headache but my shoulder and arm pain has improved.

Steroid shots are the worst.

I had several steroidal injections and became very ill as a result. Shoulders bilaterally/ my lower back/ and my hip. 3 times I wound up in the ER with severe abdominal pain/ vomiting/ mood changes/ chest pains radiated to my scapular area. Thirsty but couldn’t eat or drink. First time had EGD= GERD/ulcers/ gastric polyps/ esophagitis. 2nd time adm with dehydration, N&V, all diagnostics normal but my pain so intense it was discovered I had GB nonfunctional and had surgery to remove my gallbladder which was adhered to my omentum. 3rd time dec 15, 2017 inj to my shoulder was sooo painful immediately. W/i 24 hrs I was a raging witch, triggered migraines severe abd pain, vomiting endlessly,GI tract destroyed! With the last 2 events, chest pain with heart rate in 40s to 50s. Rolling hot and cold from shivering to sweating every hour,,! Sweaty weakness faintness low BP low HR I collapsed each time barely able to walk in fact I crawled for help. Completely unable to eat like having rabies; excessive thirst but can’t eat or drink, cold sweats, night sweats confusion severe migraines. Again the doctors and nurses insist it’s NOT the cortisone or depomedrol it must be something else. I am postmenapausal yes, for 5 years now, it’s not a hot flash oh please. I became violently ill and am still recovering from the last one, fortunately what helped me was the Benadryl the ER gave me, but once it wore off the symptoms returned. All ctscans were normal head, neck, chest, abdomen. My EKG was bradycardia and low low BP. IVFluids helped and I continued the Benadryl every 8 hrs for 2 weeks, as the med seeped into my system from my shoulder. My shoulder still hurts! I will never ever never get another cortisone injection ever!!! Neurologist, endocrinologist, ortho surgeon, and an immunologist all said, no way it’s not the steroid injection, I’m seeing here that I’m not alone , people we have a problem here!!!! I consider it an allergy to me now, let them think I’m crazy but never again!

I hear you’re pain and you are not alone! The nausea is how it starts , the bloating , gassy feeling as soon as you do eat also follows. See a GI dr but I couldn’t get any dr to listen to me despite going to the hospital after some of the last 3 inj I had because my symptoms were written off as something else! Take these posts with you show them it has severe reactions with some people! It’s a current post 1-9–2018. Hope you feel better, I used some anti-gas med, gaviscon, colace, Benadryl, my Rx for migraines and other issues but after having had 10 inj in the last year I’m done forever it made me desperately ill!

I had a cortisone injection in my left shoulder 3 weeks ago and had a similar reaction. Initially, the shoulder was ok but within 3 days I had a red rash slowly go down my arm. The rash did go away for 5 days now its back and I have a very red face. I too feel tired and light headed at times. The Doc has no idea why this has happened, saying she didnt think it was from the injection. Just seems odd to me I never had any problem with this until after. I have days where the arm and face look normal, but then it comes back again.

I just got a shot in my knee today for the 2nd time. Pain from shot was much worse and last for hours. Now I am wide awake at 3am with both of my fire arms completely tingly. Could this be related? I can’t figure out what else would be causing it. It started around 9 and is getting worsw
