I had to add to this thread because reading through the comments is the only thing that got me through the immense pain I was in. Here is my story in hopes that it will help one of you that are feeling like Satan is in your vagina.
I had symptoms of a yeast infection for the last 3 days and decided I needed to buy some medicine to clear it up since my symptoms were not going away on their own.
I stopped at store and bought monistat 1, went home and used it at midnight. About 15 minutes after putting the little pill thing in me and applying some of the cream, the itching became SO SEVERE. I started to get nervous and confused and started researching online what was happening and came across this thread. I hoped in the bath and it didn't seem to help. Then I sat on the toilet and tried to "push" out the pill thing and did that for about 30 minutes.. then I was covered in the white stuff and got back in the bath. At this point the itching and burning and swelling had gotten so severe. AWFUL!
I wanted that entire pill out of me and finally was able to see a big chunk fall out. After pushing out for awhile longer the itching started to get a little better but the burning had gotten worse. I got a wet cold towel and held it between my legs and kept getting it cold and wet. Now about an hour and a half later I am laying here with a cold pack and I feel a TON better.
The thing that helped me the most was just getting that shiz out of me!

Omg same here never again in my life I would use again ..I use 1day monistat. Before and had no problem so now I got yeast infection again n try it again n I burns like craaazy ,, I was in my bathroom doing my make up n I had to actually drop all this stuff n run to the shower n its still burning

I used Monistat 1 yesterday, it burned so bad that my only thought was to take a shower. And then I went to bed. And when I woke up it itches so bad. Did the medicine was out when I took the shower? Or is it still working

So I have been experiencing some itching burning and pain. I have had a used infection before and the symptoms are the same. So I believe it came from sex. So I decided to get the Monistat one day maximum strength treatment OVULE. Let's just say my ass is on fire in the fire department can't even put it out LOL. I believe Monistat one day maximum strength, is too strong for us ladies. I know we want the pain to go away in the itching to go away but this here is too strong I would not recommend this to no one I can tell that the burning is just starting to come down. But this sh*t is insane, so it's the people that's reading this do not take the one day , I suggest you to take the seven days if needed. Thank me later. Also I only had inserted for maybe 45 minutes to an hour that's when I noticed the pain

Only reason I'm here is because I was googling to see if anyone else was experiencing my symptoms. But before anyone thinks this is another horror story, I'm actually here to provide some relief! First time I ever used Monistat, it was the 7 day one and it burned like HELLLLLLLLLL after the first application. The rest went smoothly. Fast forward seven months later, another YI but I'm not using 7 day, as it's recommended mostly for pregnant women and diabetic women - I'm neither of those things. I'm using Monistat 3. It burns a little, but not TOOOOOOOO much like the rest of you are describing. Just wanted to say that first applications will always be uncomfortable, but they get better! Right now I'm feeling the ovule bubble, and that's bothering me more than any burning sensation I feel. Remember that Monistat 1 is considered strongest dosage as its MAXIMUM STRENGTH. Consider Monistat 3! It's a less concentrated treatment (200 mg of miconazole nitrate per dose) and is considered regular strength. Monistat 1 is honestly really strong due to the high one-time dosage, which explains the strong side affects. Consider lower dosages! Won't be as bad, as long as it's not your first time.

I used monistat 3 day and it says side effect lower adomen pain. I have been having that for a month after using it. Has anyone ever have that? If so what did u do and how long did it last bc the pain is off and on and i had itching only the morning after using it?

I felt and saw signs of a mild yeast infection on Monday night. I've had two before in my life. I took a Monistat 1, which I used twice before for my first two infections, and never had a reaction like this. I took it Tuesday night and felt great all night. All day Wednesday I felt like my V was healed. Then 2:30 hit and the ovule thingy began to seep out onto my underwear. Definitely one of the most uncomfortable moments of my life. Itched like crazy and burned. I wanted to rip my vagina out of my body. Had to run to the bathroom at work to wipe the discharge off of me. It still bothered, itched, and burned. Wiped it off again at home, took a shower. It still bothered. By about 4 it eased up a little. By 5 it eased up a lot more. It itched a little the next morning at work, but by mid morning I felt all better.

Last night I think I may have inserted an "egg" inside of my vagina that hatched a fire breathing dragon. I'm talking about Monistat 1. This was the first time using this medication. I don't get yeast infections regularly. I usually stick with home remedies, and I wish I would have stuck to my guns. Next time yogurt, tea tree oil baths, coconut oil, and probiotics. May take longer to heal, but will wreak less havoc on my precious parts. I just hope nothing is damaged down under. Don't ever use this poison!!!

I took this for the first time tonight and am experiencing horrible itching. It feels like it's on fire! The pain I had before was mild and would come and go. The only thing making it feel better is to use an ice pack. Do not use this product! Next time I will be going to the doctor.

oh my gosh... today i noticed symptoms of a yeast infection and i went to the store and got the monistat ovule. i went home and put it in and i'm regretting it so much after one hour. my vagina is litterally burning so bad. i'm not sure what to do but pls someone help!!! :(

I get yeast infections sort of frequently, a few times a year I think. Sometimes I just drink water and ride them out and they "go away" or at least the symptoms do. This time, I got one after my "period" (I am on the birth control Nexplanon so my "period" is just spotting but this time it was a tad heavier so I put a tampon in and left it in for longer than I should have and I believe that is why I am in my current situation.) I needed to do something. The discharge was thick and heavy and the itchiness was severe at times. I got the Monistat one day treatment (I usually use the three day). I inserted the ovule last night and let it work its magic. I woke up this morning and some of it had leaked into my underwear, not a big deal. Then, the most intense itching started and lasted for a good hour. It was miserable. After the itching subsided, I am now left with a pretty bad burning sensation that I can feel every time I wipe after I use the restroom. I also feel kind of swollen and warm down there, ughhh. I'm not going to say anything bad about Monistat because I have used this in the past and it works but it is pretty harsh so buyer beware, especially if you are sensitive!

So this is my first time trying this product
and it burns like crazy. I cant sleep because of the burn. I mean after a couple of hours it went away but its still horrible. Also after the first 20 minutes after i put the ovule in almost all of it came out so im guessing thats what made it worse.

OMG! Im so glad I found this thread. I used monistat 1 for the first time last night. I woke up and there was no more itching. There was still the white discharge though. I did some reading online and I guess it takes a few days for the discharge to go away. Anyway... I went about my day... all of a sudden it started to burn down there. I thought it was me but this appears to be a side effect for others too. Im gonna ride this thing out for a couple days. I hope the burning goes away. If it doesn’t, I guess I’ll go to my doctor. I know for a fact it’s a yeast infection as well - not an STD as I was JUST tested and haven’t had sex since my results came back negative. Sometimes being a woman is a total pain in the... vagina! Hahaha. Good luck ladies! Oh! I would NOT recommend the one day treatment. Just use the 7 day treatment as there seem to be less side effects

I found myself reading through every comment on this thread in a hot bath around 1:30 am. I have just found some sort of relief from the intense burning and itching sensation I was experiencing from inserting CVS brand miconazole 1 day/night treatment. It is now 2:30 am and I am just now getting out of the bathtub, praying I won't need to run back to CVS for benadryl. I am in college and I have a final tomorrow morning that I'm waking up for at 7:15... boy am I glad I did not attempt to use the medicine before the test! I experienced the horrible burning within about an hour of inserting the medicine. 0/10 do NOT recommend. Take the trip to your OB please! Do not use any OTC products (at least not the one-night ones!). Worst pain I have experienced - way worse than the YI itself. Please, please, please do not attempt to use any one-night treatments; they are just too strong!
