Ladies!! I am soo appreciative of you guys leaving feedback! I am 23...and have what I believe is to be is a yeast infection..as always, I check "down there" because after sex the other day..i was in horrible pain! I am currently recovering from vulvitis from using the wrong soaps...but now...when I looked "there" I saw white stuff..wasnt cottage cheese like, but it was really caked up, especially right below the clitoral area..and I have a loose, milky white discharge..with no scent...sex was slightly painful, but was the worst afterwards!...my mom said it was most likely a yeast infection, so we got monistat 3..and so far, im feeling no relief...very irritated/slightly burning sensation..feels like something is "bubbling up"..can somebody tell me what the hell is going on?!?! I just had my annual tests and checkups at the gyn about 3 weeks ago, and everything came back normal..been sleeping with the same man for 3 1/2 years...i dunno wat is happening..so far, this monistat sucks..no relief wat so ever!

I used the CVS brand of Monistat 1 last night. I am in so much pain. Mainly I am burning and itching and very very swollen. I have used over the counter medicines in the past and never had an issue. I have never used a 1 day treatment though. I had an infection a few weeks ago and wanted to avoid the doctor co-pay. NEVER AGAIN!

Does anyone have any solutions? Did it just go away on its own?

I am definitely going to the doctors office tomorrow morning. Possibly the stathealth or making an obgyn appointment depending on how I feel in the morning.

I am not happy that this happened to any of us but it makes me feel better that i am not alone.

Thats pretty crazy I used the Fire & Ice condoms too and believe thats what caused my yeast infection too. Its been about 2 days since I used them and started having swelling and itching. I bought the monistat1 today, and about half an hr after inserting the suppository my stuff started burning like crazy. and i can definitely tell ts swollen when i sit. pretty terrible.

I had a mild yeast infection and I used Monistat tonight to take care of it. Huge mistake. My mild symptoms have gotten much worse and now I am itching and burning badly. I do not recommend this to anyone. I have used other versions of this before. I did not have that problem then. Whatever this is, it is terrible. No one should use it, just talk to you doctor and get some medical advice instead. This company should be sued, how can this c**p be something over the counter?.. Unfortunately, by the time people read these testimonies they generally would already have tried, but if you have not I strongly advice against it.

I have never had a yeast infection before but my friend frequently gets them and my symptoms matched up with hers so I decided to try the Monistat Day or Night treatment. It didn't feel any better the first day and made the burning feel more severe. Yesterday was the second day and in the morning it felt awful, it burned so bad and felt like I had my period. Then later on the burning and itching stopped so I thought it was gone! I woke up at 5 this morning to an awful burning sensation so I went to pee and it burned so badly and then began to itch again. My friend said it usually takes 3-4 days for it to work, but I cannot handle the burning any longer. I'm prone to UTIs but I know for a fact this isn't one and the burning is almost just as bad! I'm setting up a doctors appointment today, which I regret not doing before buying the Monistat.

I used Monostat 3 for a self diagnosed yeast infection.  I have been using various vaginal anti-fungals for years with no problem.  I started to burn about 20 minutes after I used it.  It burned all night.  Today, I hurt so bad I can hardly sit down.  My who-ha is so swollen and sore.  I feel like crying.  I will never use a Monostat product again.

Hi ladies... it was very interesting to read all these posts after my experience last night. Pretty much the same story - think I have a YI, went to the drugstore last night and bought the CVS version of Monistat 1... inserted the suppository and everything was fine until I peed about 3 hours later. I started to experience INTENSE burning and itching, so bad that I was rocking back and forth like a baby, also felt like I wanted to cry. I did a quick internet search and decided to go for the plain yogurt idea. Unfortunately, it was midnight at this point and I despite waddling around NYC I couldn't find any grocery stores open... but good ol' CVS is 24 hrs so I desperately purchased Cortisone Anti Itch Cream for $5 (the CVS version - compare to CortAid). Got home, applied and instantly felt 10x better. I also took Tylenol PM - I'm not usually such a druggy but desperate times call for desperate measures and I was worried I wouldn't be able to sleep. My reason for posting is, my advice to anyone who is going to purchase Monistat 1 (or just used it and is freaking out) - also buy an anti itch cream (the cream provided isn't strong enough - I found this in the allergy section, not by feminine products), a sleep aid and plain yogurt (I could only find Greek yogurt, which I ate and today I bought plain). I am still having symptoms so if they don't let up in a day or two, I may have to take a trip to the dreaded gyno. Good luck!

I have never had a yeast infection in my 38 years until now. When i went to a conference i met a guy and ended up having a fantastic time ( no neither one of us are married and now we are in a relationship). I wasn't prepared and he used the condoms he had ( i have no idea what kind) and i slowly started getting itchy over 2weeks. I was putting steroid creme on my parts because i get allergic reactions to toilet papaer all the time and thought that is what is was originally. The steroid creme didn't work so i kind of deduced that i had a yeast infection. I used the target brand monisat 1 last night and feel sooooooo much better today. I too read the reviews after putting it in and was mortified by what happened to too many women. Being allergic to many things i started freaking out but luckily didn't have any problems. The seepage is normal and the instructional insert tells you to wear a odorless pad in your underwear because it can happen. It also states that you can be allergic and what the signs of allergic reactions are. Read before use and instead of going to the er first take a benedryl and see if it helps. Good luck ladies!

The reason it itches so bad is because its fighting off the infection. you should feel better in the morning. I would not recomend insertion before a a job or anything like that. If it still itches in the morning and you still feel pain you might have a possible urinary tract infection. I just went through all of this. I went to the er got diagnosed with a uti and then got a yeast infection from the antibiotics. this week has been hell.

Just wanted to add my voice to the general outcry about Monistat 1. I took it last night, I've had yeast infections before and the idea of getting it all over with in one day was appealing. Now I have TERRIBLE pain on urination. Not sure what to do, I don't have time to go to doc, but this is awful, and getting worse. I think my plan is to wash as much of that out as I can, and take a course of antiobiotics in case I've missed-diagnosed a UTI.

And BTW I think the Fire and Ice condoms were mentioned later in this thread. Same here! The beginning of this whole stupid mess. I'm not using them, or Monistat 1, EVER again. :-(

I think this is the only time I have ever written on a message board, but this is also some of the worst pain I have ever been in (and everyone's comments here helped me).  I have been on antibiotics and I'm pretty sure it caused me to get a yeast infection (it's happened once before).  So I used the monistat-1 (I have used I think the 3 or 7 day before without any problems) and about an hour or so after use I had the WORST pain and itching.  It was unbearable and I was literally curled up in a fetal position whimpering.  Absolutely terrible.  Anyways, so what I did was get out what I could (I recognize this is kinda gross, but it seemed like it was better out than in), try and rinse off anything I had applied, and then I sat in a hot bath for an hour or so (I also put on some bendryl cream, not sure if that helped).  Anyways, after about an hour the horrendous pain went down to a mild burn and I was able to function as a human being again.  Anyways, I'm really sorry to anyone who is going through this now, and I hope what I did might help you too!

Since all of your comments helped me I decided I would add my voice to this board and try to help someone else out too! ;) I'm 19, and this is my first ever yeast infection. I didn't have any other symptoms except the itching, but I told my sister about it (who gets them frequently) and she said it was most likely a YI. I've recently switched to a slightly more healthy meal plan (just veggies, and correct portions), but since I had a 3 day weekend I decided not to cook and live a little. So my diet for the weekend was pretty much pizza, cheese dip and nachos, chocolate, and ice cream. I heard a sudden poor dietary change can trigger it so I'm pretty sure that's what caused it. I have a job interview on Tuesday and didn't what to take chances with the 3 or 7 day treatment and got Monistat-1. Before using the product, the itch was unbearable and I even accidentally cut myself scratching. :(

I inserted the Ovule first, and thought it would be just like inserting a tampon. I was very wrong. I was extremely aware and felt it every inch of the way. Then I applied the cream that came with it, and expected it to burn because of the scratches, but it didn't. In fact, I realized after a few minutes, it was doing ANYTHING! So about 30 minutes later, I had to pee, and when I did I realize I was leaking, ew. Now, I'm not sure if it was my own fluids or the product. But it almost looked like there was toilet paper crumbles in the toilet. That's the best way I know how to describe it. Since the cream that came with Monistat wasn't working, I wiped that off and decided to put on Vagisil Extra-Strength Itch Relief. OUCH!! Burnt like CRAZY! So, I wiped that off immediately. So I dealt with it and waited. I notice it started burning a little bit, but didn't think anything about it because the itch was going away.

Now, it honestly burns like a REALLY bad sunburn. The best I can equate it with, is the first time I had sex with my EXTREMELY well-endowed boyfriend and didn't prepare properly. :$ It's not only burning, but it's red, swollen, and pulsing.

Conclusion: I think Monistat-1 is just WAY too strong. BUT you bit***s need to stop complaining about that because it's SUPPOSED to be! ;) No offense meant, but seriously. That's was it's for, it's an extreme treatment for people who need it cleared up fast! I don't think cancer patients who are getting aggressive cemo are complaining! If it's too much for you, don't take it; but if you NEED it cleared up fast and are willing to deal with the pain (which clearly means it's working), then this is a GREAT product. Except the cream, for me the cream was c**p. lol Again, I'm not trying to offend anyone this was just my opinion.
