side effects of monistat 1

I am twelve and I also took the monistat 1 and it burned like hell and after a hour or so it stopped after about 3 hours of inserting the ovule use the cream you will feel a weird burning sensation feeling but it will go away in about 5 minutes and you want itch. Then before you go to sleep use some cream again to help you when you sleep so you want wake up itching or burning it is 7:04 now and I normally go to sleep at 11 so I'll apply some then and when I wake-up I'll tell you how I feel....

I took it about 8 hours ago and I am STILL in serious pain. Severe swelling, redness, tender, itching, stinging, and all around UNCOMFORTABLE.

I'm so annoyed I didn't read the reviews earlier considering 99% of women are having the same problem with this. 

From what I've read, see your Gyno ASAP. You're having an allergic reaction. 

I am allergic to Monistat.  What has helped me so much better is Gynelotrimin.  I had no burning.  The product definitely help cure my yeast infection without the horrible burning that I felt from the Monistat. 

After inserting the medicine, I started to feel a burning sensation so I came online and read all these comments. I was terrified!! I have a very sensitive body when it comes to medicine! I got into the bath and tried to take out as much as I could and removed the cream. I felt intense burning and itching but decided I might as well try and get some sleep! I was able to sleep 8 hours and woke up this morning to my yeast infection practically gone. So I would do it again if I had to. Just a slight reaction but it went away with sleep

I noticed the clumpy, white yesterday and ran to the store to get my Monistat 1. This is my first time at this rodeo, but I was expecting it because I just finished a treatment for BV and read that yeast infections almost always occur after.

I was expecting the worst because of all these horrid reviews, BUT to my delight I'm great. I could tell the temp of my nether-regions was up, warmer than usual... But no BURNING LIKE A MILLION SUNS. I think it's because I caught it early, and treated it within 12 hours of noticing it. It's clear it is different for everyone, or maybe my pain threshold is higher than most...

Nothing is as uncomfortable as not being able to make love to my sweet hunny love.  :(

This was a good buy for me. I feel the leakage but hell that's what we want right?? Yeast!! You're evicted!!

It's not supposted to burn at all!! If it burns it means your allergic to something in the medicine so get your facts strait before you leave a comment for people to read.

I had the same reaction but a wise woman told me to use yogurt. Yes sugar free all natural plain yogurt. I applied it directly to the itchy burning area and it soothed my vag area within minutes. I believe aside from the natural ingredients the coldness from the fridge worked wonders. She also told me next time to try inserting the yogurt into my vagina for treatment instead of the monistat. If I ever have another yeast infection I am going to try the natural route.

I am currently only washing my body with one hand I broke it a few weeks ago and the other day I didn't rinse well so its been about two days I used the cooling wipes that just made me extremely irritated as well so scratch that idea then I went to another kind of white made with tea tree oil that was a little better...but all the while still very red very swollen very irritated so tired of taking Benadryl.. so today being Tuesday's being gone completely nuts with this itching burning swelling dripping I go to Walgreens pick up Monistat one day go to the bathroom inserted go get in my car headed to the children's school no sooner did I pick up my son and get home do I feel this intense me to like rip my vagina off I wanted to hit it I wanted to bang it I want it to stop it from bothering me so bad it was agonizing pain it was burning it was ripping everything out of my body I took off everything my underwear everything went and got rags cold compresses put it there rinsed it like 20 times washed it with no soap call the on call doctor he says go to the store get it over the counter hydrocortisone it's basically aggitation from the soap...a few hours later I greatly am relieved I said oh my god I don't think my vagina is going to fall off anymore...would I recommend it to someone else Yes and No this is my very first yeast infection

My mother too! She called me after using Monistat and was in tears. This is unsafe!!!!

  My doctor prescribed the oral medicine, but it seemed to be working too slowly.  Well, I'm kicking myself for not being more patient after 36 hours, and used monistat (thinking the vaginal cream would make me feel completely better).

Oh, no!   Instant SERIOUS itching, and burning, that I'm trying to figure out if there's any way of making it GO AWAY so I can go to bed!  I tried inserting a tampon to try getting some of it out, but the outside area itch is all pretty intense.

Why are there no recommendations as to what to do if one does get this side effect?  Good grief I'm going to itch to death tonight!  (I'm 52 and got the yeast infection as a reaction to a new medication for type 2 diabetes).

I hate to hear so many horror stories about Monistat 1! But I guess every body is different. I used Monistat 1 before I went to sleep and slept like a baby. I woke up and my vagina started itching but nothing too severe... I've only had two yeast infections and for the first time I used Monistat 3. But I was looking for quick relief this time around and decided to do Monistat 1. I will say the itch relief cream does NOTHING for me by itself. I didn't really experience any burning sensations but the itching was crazy. But what I like to do is rub an ice cube on the itchy parts until it melts and THEN apply the itch relief cream. Works amazingly!! It might feel uncomfortable at first because it's so cold but once I do it I don't itch for the rest of the day.

I just used Monistat 1 around 1pm at night and woke up to severe itching inside my vagina. I was taking antibiotics because I caught a UTI and then turned around and caught a yeast infection from the meds I was taking. I had a mild infection and I decided I would hold off on going to the doctor and wanted to try Monistat 1 and a part of me wishes I hadnt. My vagina itches more now than it did a few hours ago....which is causing me to be up at 3pm in the morning. I took a hot.shower which helped a little but the itching is still there....

I am 18 years old and I have been battling strep throat, a sinus infection, and a UTI, as well as a yeast infection in the past week..... My sister suggested that I take monistat 1, because she's used it before and it gives you relief in a pretty quick fashion. I took it at 10 PM, and I am writing this at 1 AM because it has caused such a severe burning/itching/pain that I can't bring myself to go to sleep. I have silently been praying to God that this sensation will go away but it hasn't... after 2 hours. I am in so much discomfort that I don't even wish this on my worst enemy!!! Along with the strep, sinus infection, UTI, and now this, it is safe to say that this is probably one of the worst nights of my 18 years on this Earth. Stay away from monistat 1!!!!
