I have noticed that when I use certain shampoos, I get sores in my ears. Pantene, Loreal, Head and Shoulders, have all given me sores. When I stopped using the shampoo, they went away. If I use it again, the sores come back. I haven't had any trouble with the shampoos from the salons, or with Herbal Essence, or Aussie. You might just try another shampoo and see if it helps.

I literally just came from the doctor for the same thing.
He looked at it and said it's so big, my ear canal is almost closed. He said not to pop it. For pain, he said to use over the counter pain reliever and a heating pad might feel good. He said to use Neosporin on a Q Tip to keep it clean. It will either come to head or more likely, it will just go down.

I've had them a few times. I have one right now. It started a week ago with a little lump and a bit of soreness and got worse. Yesterday opening my mouth and stuff hurt. Woke up this morning and it had popped in my sleep!! WOOHOO instant relief. I'm putting peroxide and antibiotic ointment on it. Its right at the opening of my ear canal
