I skipped my period my first month on birth control (I realize that probably wasn't the best idea) since then, which was about two weeks ago, I've had brown discharge but it now seems like it has turned into a light period. I still have one more week of regular pills before my next placebos. Will I get a normal period then and then will it stop?

my girlfriend recently just had this problem also, and i am wondering if i should be worried. she is on the pill and takes it at the same time every day, but about a week ago she missed two pills, but then took two the next day, since then she has been on time and hasnt missed a pill. we are pretty sexually active, we have sex almost every day, but i rarely ejaculate inside of her. maybe three times in total. anyways, yesterday she got a spot of blood on her underwear and i am worried, should i be? is this common? what are the chances of her being pregnant

99% is a little inaccurate..it is 99% with perfect use but most people do not take it at exactly the same time every day, so typical use goes down to about 87% effective.

I am have also been on lo lorstrin fe birth control for a month and a week now and I ALWAYS take my pill everyday at the same time, but yesterday I didn't have my cell phone on me with the alarm that reminds me to take it. I then remembered I hadn't taken it and it was an hour and 19min late. Is this considered a missed pill? Should I take another just to be sure? I am sexually active and I had unprotected sex last week. Could I be pregnant? Answers please idk what to do! also today I was spotting but very lightly what could that mean? I don't get my period for another two weeks

Hello, I'm freaking out because I'm experiencing the exact same thing. My question now is whether or not I continue taking the pill. I don't want to risk harming my baby if I am pregnant. I missed a pill. Ortho tricycles. Green and in the third week if that helps. Plz help.

I am in a similar situation.  I´ve had unprotected sex with my boyfriend three times in the past week.    I have not missed a pill but I have been taking it on different times the whole month.  It has been a week since my first unprotected contact and now I am having some weird light bleeding and I feel like I´m having my period when in fact I still have a couple of pills left in my pack.  I´ve had two days of this type of bleeding.  I have been on the pill for a very long time now and I have never had this type of bleeding while im taking a pack.     I AM FREAKINT OUT.

antibiotics are known to over ride birth control,so there might be chance. I would see you're doctor or take a test.

I came to this post because I have just started spotting a tiny bit just before my period (three days). I've been on birth control for a few years and I have always had weird things go on. My fiancé lives out of the country so I don't see him for months at a time. After I visited in march there was a six month gap of time where I wasn't going to see him so I decided since I wasn't going to be sexually active and the pills were screwing with my hormones, I figured I would try being off. It made everything better. My period was normal again (I either didn't get it at all or got it really lightly on the pill), my boobs stopped hurting, and I felt better. However, I few months before I was going to see him again, I started on the pill again. My period stopped again, boobs started hurting, nothing but problems. I assume it is due to high estrogen even though I'm on a low estrogen pill. Anyway, for the two months before I started again, the first time I got my "period" which was basically just spotting a week before my placebo, and there was NO way I was pregnant, and the second month I didn't get it at all. When he is around my hormones get batty, and so I don't know if my spotting early has to do with that. (I assume it does), but going to the gyn in a few weeks to get my hormones really looked at and possibly find an underlying cause. So just wanted to let you guys know, spotting early doesn't necessarily mean pregnancy, but if you're worried, it is cheap to buy a pregnancy test, and although it is scary and a bit embarrassing to buy one, it is better to find out early so it can ease your mind or let you know early. And to the people who are getting it early and going off or thinking about going off the pill, DO NOT DO THAT!!!! Sperm can stay active for a week after, and if the bleeding is not from pregnancy you can get pregnant from stopping! Birth control pills do a negligible amount of damage to a fetus, so take a pregnancy test if you're that worried and if you are pregnant, stop taking the pill and see your obgyn ASAP! Good luck!

I am on the pill too and have been for either 4 or 5 months and I just started having spotting for the past 3 days. I have been sexually active with and without a condom. I haven't missed any pill this pack but I have once before but can't exactly remember when but I just took 2 the next day at the same time. I had my last period like 2 weeks ago and everything seemed fine then had sex recently and this happened. should I be worried?
