Strange symptoms after getting off Depo Provera - Part 2

I have just been on the injection for 3months, I'm not going to continue as I get constant headaches with cramps and back pain. I never got my period on the injection which is great but my sex drive is just a dead. Does anyone else have these effects and what are people's side effects coming off thanks

I came across your post while trying to research what to expect when coming off Depo. I have been on the needle for almost 11 years and now I am thinking on having children. So far everything that I have read about possible side effects when coming off terrifies me. I see that you posted a year ago, so I am wondering if you came off the needle. If you have, have you experienced anything negative?
Just a side note: while being on the needle I haven't experienced any of the negative side effects that I see most women do. So I'm hoping it will be the same when coming off!

This says squat about how it affects your body after coming off the shot. Hasn't anyone done any research on that? I have been on the depo for a total of 17years and coming off has been a living nightmare. Mood swings, headaches, weight gain, sore breasts and nipples to the point now that I cannot sleep without a sports bra on. I can't sleep, I can't remember anything this by far is the worst contraceptive you could give people. It has not been five months since I have been off the shot and I still have not gotten my period back. My estrogen levels are through the roof! It makes me sick to know that they are able to give this to women and pass it off as a good thing.

I have just come off the Depo after 10 years on it and I ALWAYS want sex doesn't matter where I am. I have never had this before my sex drive was very seldom even before injection during none and now 3 weeks post due for injection and I've never had this! Does it last long? Permenant side effect? Good side effect ?

I think my boobs are growing after quitting (5th month since my last shot) which is weird because I haven't gained weight; They feel heavier and my tatas are on fire! I'm hoping they stay bigger has anyone had a change in breast size? Is it permanent?

I was searching for "what to expect when coming off Depo Provera" and read all of your comments. I went on the shot 6 weeks after having my son. So I've been on the shot for almost 7 years.
I recently decided to discontinue the shot after reading and sort of obsessing over the thousands of horror stories claiming it causes infertility.
I am due for my next shot on August 30th (exactly 15 days from now) but I am already experiencing some of the symptoms so many of y'all have experienced. Like I said, I've been on the shot for almost 7 years so the shot I am due for in 2 weeks would have been my 28th injection. That being said, this shouldn't be the first time i'm experiencing these "withdrawal" symptoms. So why is it? It's very frustrating not knowing what's going on with your own body.
Over the past week I have had HORRIBLE cramps lasting all day, breast tenderness, I've been extremely gassy, bloated, fatigued, can't sleep through the night, extremely hungry etc.
I've never had these symptoms while being on the shot. Even right before I'm due for the next injection. So why now? Just to be sure, I've take 2 home pregnancy tests and both came back negative.

FYI...I stopped having periods right after my second shot 7 years ago. I would spot maybe twice a year for the first 3 years but nothing since then. And I occasionally cramp while on the shot but never this bad.

I noticed some of y'all we're mentioning how low or non-existent your sex drive became after starting the shot. I too have this problem and its a real self esteem killer. You know you SHOULD want to... you just don't. And why weren't we warned about this along with the hundreds of other issues the shot can cause?

I know this is an old post. Does anyone have new updates on when their periods and sex drive came back and for those of you that were trying to conceive, how long did it take after discontinuing Depo?

I will keep y'all updated on how my body withdrawals from this poison but so far, not so good and I still have two weeks until my next shot is supposed to be due :(

Hi been on it for 14 years it was great for me didn't mine the weight gain made my hair grow instead of falling out no periods just spotting wish I could have stayed on but the doctor said they didn't know what it was doing to my bones but the only side affect of being off is your bottom hurt from the Quick withdraw from not being off for a year now

Ive been have the same thing happen i believe i was going on my 4th shot and i stoped cause i didnt like the burn in my arm after the shot

I came off the depo last month its been horrid either side. I've thought ive been going crazy 4 months now. Feeling sick, pains basically a phantom pregnancy. Not like were plannin on one im set to try summat else. The bone thing concerned me and i brought it up but it was hushed up so i got a drs appointment and decided something else. Ive doubled my body weight since i had my youngest and its not done the same job. The bone issue im suffering with my back but they never disclose with the implants and coil they say ir can onlg be it this amount of yrs. They should do same wiv depo then go on pill or summat 4 a bit then back on. And in the break flood ur system wiv a counteragent to depo so ur bones are ok

I hope this finds it way to someone thinking of depo, DO NOT DO IT.

I was one depo for one shot, 3 months during that time I was very emotional and closed 2/3 sometimes spotting others long mentruations with PMS systems. I was told as the end of the three months came to an end I would start spotting but instead it was the opposite. Now two months later I’ve had heavy bleeding for one hour, and just RECENTLY have started having headaches, cramps, break through bleeding and very sensitive breast. I keep thinking I’m pregnant since this all started and my period is late.... but I don’t know. Anyone experience symptoms months later after getting off.

Yes my breast has went from a c- cup to a 44 dd cup i hate it they always hurt and sore I can not sleep most of time with out a sports bra on.. always feeling dizzy and faintly im even scard to drive because it gives me fear now.

OmG All that you have said i'm going through it now and I wish I never took the shot I was on it for less a year and they never mention to you the side affects I should of read on it deeply are did research better then I did I just want my life back so sucks and your are right I wouldnt wish this on my worst enemy not even the devil him self.
