Well it is 3:30 am and I think I may finally be done with the runs. I am going to try and get some rest. On a positive note, it is officially Day 6 for me now!  Also, I don't have to get up and go to work so I can rest (I hope!).

My tummy is so rumbly. Loud. Especially when I am laying in the tub and my head is laying on a towel. I can hear the rumblies echoing in the tub itself. haha. I was falling asleep a little while ago and it was particularly loud and woke me up, which is probably a good thing.

I think our water bill will be sky high after all the soaks I've been taking the past week!

And yes, PITA, wouldn't it be great to go on a vaca and leave our butts behind?!? That would be awesome.

Yay for Day 6!! Glad to hear the runs have subsided. I totally know what you mean by the rumbling sound your tummy makes. I actually still have that problem but I think it's bc of how much fiber I'm taking in. I've been going to the bathroom quite frequently too and just today started to think about how much the water bill would be with all my bathroom trips, soakings, washes, and showers lol. Oh well, it's not forever! :) Good night breezie.

Almost 415 and still having issues. Pain meds are wearing off and I'm wooried to take them if they make this worse. I'm beginning to think this is not the stuff I took but what we had for dinner. Hubby made pancakes with high fiber ingredients and perhaps my gut is responding to something, like an allergy. He has bought all kinds of flours and other ingredients. Even though I have said repeatedly that I want to only eat foods I know well, I don't think he really gets it. I love him dearly but for the next month or two I will have to decline some of his cooking. Things don't affect him the way they do me and I don't think he really understands what this is like. He means well and is cooking for me which is awesome. But I can't go thru this again!

Pita ur same age as me :-)

tooyoung-- did u have surgery in mooresville? Thats where mine was. My surgeon was Dr melbert. Did a great job other than not prescribing flomax right away. If ur growth is like mine it's just swelling. Mine was size of my thumbnail. Then it turned into just excess skin. Skin tags eventually shrunk after many weeks.

Breezie
Sorry to hear about diarrhea. I think that's just as bad if not worse than constipation. Can u keep up the miralax but back off on fiber? That would also reduce ur gas levels. I hope ur Bacon feels better

Aww I'm sorry breezie. What a bummer to still be dealing with that after 4 in the morning. I really thought you were done for the night when it started to subside at 3:30. Yeah, it sounds like it could be something your stomach is reacting to. The frustrating part is that it's so difficult to pinpoint the ingredient(s) sometimes so it makes us feel like we have to avoid a bunch of things. Your hubby means well and is trying his best Im sure, to make sure you're taken care of. As time goes by he'll get a better idea of what you can and can't have.

I hope you're feeling better by now and that today will be a better day for you! :) I went easy again on the fiber yesterday and was worried that I'd have a painful bm this a.m. but it actually wasn't, surprisingly. The first part of it was soft followed by diarrhea again though I think it may just be the residual laxative still in my system from the other day, idk. I'm anticipating a much better day today and don't expect to be confined to my home and near a toilet as I have some grocery shopping I really need to do. Today is exactly 4 weeks from my surgery! I had my surgery 4 Tuesdays ago hehe.

Lol. Archer, you had me laughing xd  When I read you said hope your bacon feels better I thought, "Is that a word they're using these days for something and I just have no clue?" lol!!! Then I read your next post and started busting up. Too funny about the auto corrections on our phones! I once meant to say something on a text message (can't remember now exactly the word) but it corrected the word to something insulting and I remember reading it back before sending it and was sooooo relieved I hadn't sent it yet!! lol Ugh.. hope that never happens lol!!!

breezie, I just thought of something (for some reason it just occurred to me). You mentioned your stomach/acid reflux is acting up and you wished you could sip on ginger ale but it makes you gassy. You can try pouring it in a glass and then stirring it with a spoon to get rid of a lot of the fizz. A Swiss dr told me to do that with Coke. I was traveling on vacation and was will from day one and was hospitalized for 2 nights. It was a major stomach issue but anyway looooong story short, he said if your stomach continues to bother you, sip on some Coke but stir it up to get rid of the fizz that way it doesn't bother your stomach. He said the sugary syrup in it will help coat the lining of our stomach and ease the pain. Coke has been my best friend ever since and it's been 10 years. It's my medicine for many things even though it shouldn't be lol! Not telling you that you should drink Coke... just an idea to get rid of the fizz if you want some ginger ale :)

PITA, congratulations on hitting the 4 week mark!!!! YAY!!!!!! I read somewhere recently that what I'm experiencing could be a food intolerance. The ideal suggestion is to go back to a very basic diet and then add one food at a time, keeping a food diary, to identify what the culprit(s) are. I hpoe to do that after I am recovered. It just feels too bad to do that now and risk more diarrhea or constipation.

I think last night was the perfect storm. I added in too much fiber all in one day and then hubby made the pancakes with a multi-grain flour. I was feeling a little better yesterday afternoon and had an appetite for the first time since surgery, so I ate too much. On top of that I had taken 4 stool softeners during the day and then the Miralax and prune juice. The reason I think a food intolerance was involved was because of the severe bloating and gas that just would not go away. It was 4:30 before I could rest. Then I had to wake up at 7 to make sure my son got off to school. It's all a blur. I was in and out of awareness all morning.

I'm still having some gas and gut rumbling today. All I have eaten is some applesauce, half an apple, and a plain wrap. I wanted some mashed potatoes but we are out. Hubby is going to pick me up some.

I called the dr today because my "bacon" area (LOL!) is a little raw from all the diarrhea. I literally lost count after 10 bouts and 6 hours. He said I could dab a little Vaseline in the outside area - just a very little. So I just tried that. When I brought my finger away, there was a greenish-yellow pus. Is that normal? I haven't been having much bleeding or drainage at all, so I'm not sure what is normal and what would be an infection.

LOL @ bacon. I thought it was a new lingo for that area after surgery. It's also funny because I love bacon and have had to stop eating it. And also a coworker told me about a website called damnyouautocorrect that shares things like this, so I got to thinking how funny it is when autocorrect acts up. I used to work in a public service agency and we had to triple check any outgoing correspondence because Word would miss things like missing the "l" in "public" which would give you quite a different word!

Great idea, PITA! I am going to go try it now! I used to drink COKE like it was going out of stock. Nowadays I have to drink caffeine free diet, but I could try this with both ginger ale and the coke/pepsi.

PS - PITA, both surgeons that I consulted with recommended cutting caffeine out completely as that can make hemorrhoids worse. You may want to try going caffeine free. It has something to do with how much the caffeine stimulates the anal nerve area.

I'd better add Caffeine Free Coke to my shopping list then because I only have regular. I wasn't aware of the cutting out caffeine being important so I'm glad you told me that. The surgeon may have mentioned it along with the other things not to do/consume but my anxiety may have kept me from paying full attention or retaining all the info lol!! Well, I've completely eliminated coffee (after drinking it for many years) so that's a good thing, at least. But yeah, I'll cut my caffeine intake a little more now. Thanks!! :)
