So I was on birth control pills for a while, to make a long story short I ended up stopping them after switching a few times because I felt like they made me an emotional time bomb. I also had horrible headaches constantly! So here I am almost 6 months later and I fear getting pregnant right now since it's not the right time. If I did get pregnant it would be ok but I'd prefer to wait another year or two even. So I was doing some research online last night and came across the mini pill. All the sites I read made it sound like some sort of miracle drug that lets you have sex and not get pregnant (assuming you take the pill exactly at the right time every day) and with very little to no side effects since it has no estrogen in it. Clearly I was intrigued. Now my question is, has anyone taken a mini pill? If so what are your thoughts on it? Is it as wonderful as the site made it out to be? (I'm assuming it's not!). Will this one make me run screaming away from birth control pills again? :-D any help or input would be appreciated!

Thank you!!

Hi there! It looks like form what I've seen that if you take this there's possibly a good chance at you taking this. It's not as lovely as you think it is as there's still the possibility of side effects, but I say try it. It can't hurt and you can always run screaming from it if you don't like it XD what do you think?

I'm so up in the air about all of this. I'm paranoid about getting pregnant right now so I need to use some form of birth control. The mini pill seemed like a good choice till I read about the break through bleeding and how it can happen at anytime and ahhh that's the last thing I need. Especially since I'll be in nursing school soon and the first years scrubs are WHITE! Not such a good plan there... So, I was on Yasmin and had no issues till they switched me to the generic brand so I'm going to try the name brand one more time to see if it's still as good for me as it was over a year ago. Wish me luck.. if it doesn't go well everyone on here will be the first to know ;-) I'll be asking for help again haha.

That sounds like a good plan. I don't know why some birth control pills affect people so adversely but yeah maybe the name brand stuff will definitely help you out. GOod luck at nursin gschool! And yeah, keep me posted. ;)

I've taken the mini pill for 3 weeks, then stopped. How will that affect my body? How will it affect my period, and for how long? I can not take a combo pill, had a blot clot in lung from combo.
