I am 33 yrs. old, have two children ages 1 &3. Went to the docs. 41/2 months ago for very light spotting that was occuring a week after my period stopped. Would spot for about 4 days. Sonagram showed two small fibroid tumors, uterine lining 6mm. Went for a recheck the other day. Fibroids the same, lining is now 9mm. Will go for a d and c this month. Very nervious! Does this have to mean precancer or cancer?

Hi Vern,
I had a D & C this past August. The reason being that my uterine lining was thickening and shouldn't be. I was suppose to have an endometrial ablation (burning out of the lining, alternative hysterectomy), but my uterine cavity was too small to do the procedure safely. Everything turned out fine. I asked to have general anesthesia and I did okay. I actually wasn't sore much the next day either. I'm very glad I did it for the peace of mind it brings.
My advice is to do it and don't fear it. It is best to know that you're okay as opposed to letting something go any further and risk a bigger problem down the road. Have it checked sooner than later. Look in your children's eyes and I'm certain you will find the reason to do it. Take care of yourself for them.
Defeat it. Don't let it defeat you. You're stronger than you really realize! I know you can do it because if I can, anybody can. I have two daughters and I pictured myself leaving them behind and that was the sober awakening I needed to go ahead with it.
God bless you.

I read your message & suddenly I am comforted by your words. I am 55 years old & am going for a D & C tomorrow, had some anxiety, but feel much better about it after reading your words of encouragement. I have an enlarged uterus, very thickened lining (dr. says mine is 27, normal is 7), polups, fibrois, but have had NO bleeding for 3 years. I feel good, therefore was questioning why this needed to be done. This was found through an ultrasound I had done for back pain & pressure in my butt cheek. When my family doctor saw the report, he suggested I get in touch with my gyn ASAP. I said "I go for my yearly gyn exam in 6 months" He said "This cannot wait 6 months, you need to call them now". A nurse called to schedule my pre-admission testing. I questioned the gyn doctor as to if it was really necessary & she reassured me that it is. I am also having the scope thing done at the same time. Again, thanks for your positive thoughts & fearless attitude. I, too, will be thinking of my 6 children & 2 grandchildren! Any Prayers will be appeciated!
