Period came 5 days late. No uterine lining being shed, just blood. Whats going on?

i have sort of the same thing...and no real answer. ive searched the web and found nothing. i started 2 days early, just blood no lining. it has a weird quality, red but not quite like blood. it doesnt smell like blood either. i have no cramping and i normally do. its also really light compared to my normal heavy bleed. i am not nor have i ever used any form of birth control and am married and only have relations with my husband and he with me. we are ttc and have had no luck so far though i have had 3 previous healthy babies. i had bleeding for the first 5 months of pregnancy with my last one 6 years ago. i cant recall if it looked like this or not. any help would be appreciated. thank you

Did either of you experience the uterine lining finally falling out at the start of your next period? I had all the same things happen to me as you with my period a month ago. Today, my next period started up and instead of starting like normal, the brownish red lining I can only assume was supposed to come with my last period fell out all at once. Please, if either of you are still checking this or around, can you tell me if this also happened to you? I am not sure if this is normal or not, and I would really like to know if others have experienced the same.
