Hi. I am a 48 year old who recently went back to college full time. I have been taking Tramadol for back pain for over a year now. I know I am addicted to it. College is now off for winter break, so I am getting off of this medication. I did go into work today (I work at the college) but had to leave. I think I could handle the physical side of the withdraw, it's the depression, anxiety, mental anguish that seems to be the worst. I am on day two without the drug. I bought some quality vitamins and minerals yesterday that I have started. I could not concentrate at work at all. My mind was just blank. Lack of energy, depression...it's horrible. Crying at every little thing...it's so hard. I think I just needed to vent and maybe get some feedback.
Thank You.

Kimelaine,
My name is Taylor. I am a 20yr old college student, I work full time and I am a full time mother. After I started having stress seizures due to all I take on in daily life, I had horrible pain in my stomach. Tramadol is a drug I was put on. I stopped taking it myself too because I didn't like how attached I was. I suggest constulting a doctor, before quitting cold turkey. That is very risky in itself. I will tell you that after a few weeks of not taking it, I did get better and return to normal. I suggest reading up on side effects and possible serious issues that can occur if the drug is stopped soon. If you have any questions or concerns, I'd be happy to chat.
Hope this helps.

Hi Taytay,
I have been doing a taper on it. It's not so much any physical pain, just extreme fatigue and my brain is not working, depression and anxiety. What was your experience, and how long did it take for you to get over it?

Honestly, it took about a month. It can take up to 90days with most medication to run its course through the body and return to normal. Sorry for being late with replying, with the holiday and all, well you know.
Please take care

You are lucky it is tramadol. I am in the process of withdrawing from Norco. It is a b***h. Stay strong and you will have a great life moving on...

Hi Kim, I am on day 3 of Withdrawal and my symptoms are all gone now. I had Clonazepam and Xanax prescribed to me to help me. Tell your doctor you wish to quit this drug. He will understand what will happen when you do.
