Hi, guys. My sister in law was diagnosed with some form of leukemia; I am not sure which type exactly. I think that doctor recommends chemotherapy with cyclophosphamid as treatment option. I would like to know the unwanted side effects of this drug. Can you name any? I would really be grateful for this piece of info.

Hi to you too. As any other cytotoxic drug, cyclophosphamide also has side effects. A patient is tired and weak. Alopecia can also be noticed. Nausea and vomiting are also usual. However, there are some long term side effects you should be aware of. Cyclophosphamide suppresses bone marrow, so you can expect anemia. White blood cells and blood platelets are also decreased. Long term use can cause bladder cancer. Discuss with your doctor about all these issues.
