I have problems with arthritis. It is like a family condition. My parents had problems with it and my brother has problem with it. My doctor suggested that I should take voltaren. But my brother is using mobic and he is doing just fine. So I wonder should I insist on mobic at my doctor or to listen to his advice.

Mobic is used to block certain substances in your body that are linked to the inflammation. On the other side voltaren is used to reduce hormones that are responsible for pain and inflammation. If you need to take it for longer period of time then it is better to use voltaren-XR. There is a reason that you have been prescribed with voltaren and your doctor knows the best why he did it. If your brother responde well to the mobic it doesnt mean that you will too.

I was prescribed Voltaren but had to switch to Mobic because Voltaren did absolutely nothing for me. Mobic helps me a lot more but I was given it for an injury, nothing permanent. Mobic also has less side effects and you don't have to take it as often. But like was said in the previous comment, Voltaren is probably better for long-term conditions.
