I started birth control pills (loestrin) on April 22nd, which was about a week before my next period was supposed to start. So obviously because of the pills my period has been delayed and should be starting sometime between today and Saturday. However I had unprotected sex on the 13th of this month. I've heard different things about when birth control starts being effective. Some have said it starts after the first week and some people (including the doctor who gave me the pills) say that it doesn't really start becoming effective until after the first pack of pills is done. I'm just wondering what are my chances of being pregnant right now. I know I can go get a home pregnancy test and check to be sure but I thought I'd get some advice on here first. I'm 25 years old and have had regular periods since I first got it, though I didn't start becoming sexually active until this past December and I've only had sex about 5 or 6 times since then.

Any thoughts?
