I have been using pill for the past seven months. I don't know if it is normal, but for the past 4 weeks I have been experiencing some bleeding. I would like to know what causes this breakthrough bleeding while I am on pill? I would like some information. Thanks

You should probably go to your doctor and tell him about your bleeding. An obvious cause of breakthrough bleeding is missing pills. Over 80% of women will have some bleeding or even a full menses by the time 3 pills are missed. However, the most common cause of bleeding on oral contraceptives is unknown. It is believed to be due to atrophic bleeding due to low estrogen. The lining of the uterus, endometrium, is quite thin and subject to abrasion even from normal activity. Also, cigarette smoking has been known to be associated with anti-estrogen effects. Studies have shown differences in breakthrough bleeding rates in the first 3 months of women starting birth control pills ranging from 10%-55%. The longer you take the pill the intermenstrual bleeding rate drops to about 10-15% in the 4th and subsequent cycles. Intermenstrual bleeding (breakthrough bleeding as a recurrent problem) decreases from 0.5% to 0.3% in women who have been on oral contraceptives over some period of time. The best treatment in the first 3 cycles of pill use is reassurance that the bleeding problems are likely to decrease and disappear with continued use.

Are you already having an active sex life or your periods are so irregular that you need bc pills to regulate them? I am not sure I understood your problem correctly, you didn’t give precise details.
What kind of pain are you experiencing? Is it pain during periods, during PMS or something else. Blood clots are nothing scary but normal. This usually happens if your blood flow is too heavy and fast and there is not enough time for anti-coagulants to keep your blood from clotting as it moves to your vagina and out of your body. The blood then clots. If your clots are very big, then you should see a doctor.
Although drugs are not so healthy, I usually take some when I have severe menstrual pain.

"breakthrough bleeding" is the adverse affect related to the estrogen in your birth control pill.

I had break through bleeding and then read that bc pills can lower your vit b level. I had started seasonique and had constant spotting for 4 weeks. After three days of taking b-complex, it stopped.

Your warts are caused from HPV strain 6 or 11. Your bleedig may be caused by HPV also, but from more of a discerning cancer producing strain. Go see your doctor and get a pap...NOW!

I just started taking seasonique (I'm on my 8th week of it now) I lost my virginity a month ago and only twice i have experienced bleeing after sex
The first time it really freaked me out so my boyfriend suggested we stop for a while
We had sex again about a week and a half later because I had assumed I was ok again.
Buuuttt apparently I wasn't, I didn't notice the bleeding till this evening (we had sex yesterday afternoon)
It was like the other bleeding I experienced once before but much more, it was all on the fabric and lining of my underwear in the area between my thighs
Like the bleeding before this was not like period blood, it was not dark dark crimson and gloppy or heavy like my flows are
It was a bright red and like normal blood,
It was a little brown but I'm assuming that was because it wasn't really recent
When I wiped the blood looked fresh and then I wiped a few times again and it was still red
It was not dropping or leaking from me consistently like my period but when ever I wiped it was there again and fresh
The sex was long and very intense but it didn't feel "rough" like we've experienced before. Though for the first time in intercourse I did not feel any pain when he would thrust fast or hard like I had in the past even if it was slow but deep
I would greatly appreciate any information anyone has about this
I an I'm no pain just as I am right now but sometimes my lower abdominem feels a little sore or bruised but I don't know
I know it's most likely just the long sex (we DO make sure to use lube frequently) and birth control
I am 17 and I am on birth control because my menstrual cycle lasted from 7-9 days with extremly heavy bleedig (as in tampon and a very very large pad and after two hours the tanpon already leaked and the pad soaked) and I had it every fourteen days
Just a side note we always use protection
