Hi. I have just one short question. I've recently been told that one of the side effects of taking the pill is breakthrough bleeding and I’m interested what that is? Thanks for all answers!

Breakthrough bleeding, or spotting, is simply a little bit of bleeding that occurs when you are not in menstrual period. Women usually notice this when spotting a couple drops of blood on underwear while not having period. There are many causes, but the most common one is birth control pill. If breakthrough bleeding is the main reason for your pill worries, than you shouldn't be too concerned. Firstly, it is highly unlikely to happen, and, secondly, even if it happens simply switch to a different form of pill. Hope this helps.
