Hi, Sometimes I feel like my mom is really a man in a woman's body, because she doesn't seem to understand my PMS!!!!!  I get REALLY irritated when I'm PMSing!!!!  Sometimes to the point where I just want to tell people to, "Shut the f*** up!"  Even the most legit things such as requests, reminders, corrections, or suggestions can REALLY send me over the edge!!!!!!!  If I tell my mom that I'm PMSing, she sometimes says something like, "Well, stop it!"  I cry more easily too (I usually don't cry very easily), but I don't think that's as bad as the short temper.  I have Asperger Syndrome (mild form of Autism in which speech and cognitive abilities are within normal limits), and that makes it harder for me to think about other peoples' feelings (though, I do try).  But this gets worse right before my period when my hormones are all over the place.  Usually I'm a very sweet young lady, but during the 1-2 weeks before my period, I get EXTREMELY moody and short tempered!!!!!!  I have even said things I didn't mean because of PMS!!!!!  Once I'm on my period, though, my hormones shift and I go back to being my normal friendly self.  My mom has suggested that I ask about birth control pills, so I can be more myself at all times, but I've heard birth control stops your periods.  My period itself isn't that bad, it's just the PMS that's a prob.

You have to learn to control yourself when you're on your period. It's not right to blame other people and hurt them just because you're feeling bad. PMS isn't an excuse, nor is it an entitlement, to be irritable and say mean things, and remember, you aren't alone in feeling the way you do during PMS.

I understand how you feel, but you aren't in control of anyone else's behaviour but your own. Don't blame other people for not understanding you, that's letting them control your mood. Just move on, do something you like. Good luck.

I forgot to mention: if you can still show respect for other people even when your mood is terrible, then that shows great character. =)

Hi, thanks for your feedback. I appreciate that, but I don't just get a little moody when I'm PMSing, I get SO irritable that I feel like I want to harm myself or others. I usually just need a little more TLC right before my period. I do realize that it's nobody's fault that I have PMS, and that I'm only in control of my own behavior (nobody else's), but it just gets SO bad that I feel like I can't control it. Once I'm ON my period, though, my hromones change again, and I go back to my normal, kind, caring self.

Hi, whoever posted as "Dont Worry," Thanks very much for your feedback! I'm SO glad to know I'm not the only one!!!! That's true, it does show excellent character and strength if I can be nice to everyone right before my period!!!!! I know it's normal to get a little moody when you have PMS, but I get SO irritable when I'm PMSing that I feel like I could rip someone's head off!!!!! My mom suggests birth control so I don't have to be so short tempered right before my period, but sometimes, all it takes is a little more TLC. Once I'm on my period, though (like I said) my hormones make another shift, and i go back to being kind and caring. I still care about others when I'm PMSing, I just get very sensitive. Thanks again for the feedback, I appreciate that.

Lol, sure that you are not the only one. I think that you overreact a little bit. Sure that you are worried about this whole situation, but I don't think that your mom does not understand your PMS. I think that she does because she is a lady and she went through all that as well (years ago, I might add), I am sure that she had all those PMS signs as well.

Try to calm down, try to talk normally with your mom because she is your friend and she only wants what is the best for you.
