Are you still taking Mobic?

My doctor always says Mobic doesn't cause withdrawal, however, I have been on it for over 10 years and whenever I have to stop I become lightheaded, sick to my stomach and hurt all over. If I'm off long enough I develop a fever and feel like I have a bad flu. The symptoms have ALWAYS stopped as soon as I get mobic back into my system.

No, that's withdrawal for sure! Especially the lightheadedness and the stomachache, as I bet they are not just the return of the original symptoms that started you on Mobic 10 years ago. I KNOW that Mobic causes a rough withdrawal as I've been through it a few times. I bet the doctor hasn't ever taken Mobic long-term - my doctor is no different. So often, if they haven't experienced it, they don't think it's for real.

I'm doing the exact same thing, I'm in so much pain I can hardly stand it. My whole body. Did it get any better?

Did it get any easier? How many days did you have to go through withdrawal? I'm on day 5 and it's the worse so far

I've been on it about 3 wks & I've gained big time weight which I don't need because of heart condition. It's helped the inflammation but I sweat really bad in the day time & my BP is higher. Calling my cardiologist tomorrow. I'm eating everything in sight !

I've had the same problem, and have thought several times about stopping the medication. Mine is for hip dysplasia, and a little stronger. So far, I've gained 15 pounds, but I'm also on Metaprolol for a heart condition, and it causes weight gain also. At 5 feet, every pound gained looks like 10!

Yes, but I'm going to quit. I do not want to be overweight!

My own amateur conclusion from my several experiences with Mobic is that it certainly seems to help develop the infamous "metabolic syndrome" (increased blood pressure, high blood sugar, excess body fat around the waist, and abnormal cholesterol or triglyceride levels) - which is well known to increase inflammation...and thus more pain...and thus more Mobic! A guaranteed steady income for "Someone", kinda like "signing your soul over to the Devil" for pain relief. (No, I'm not a member of any anti-meds cult!) It's very tough to do it (I know!), but I decided I HAD to stop the escalation of this drug's vicious spiral, or simply accept an earlier and nastier death. What I'm working hard at now is determining the best type of diet for my own body (non-inflammatory, non-allergenic foods) and the best *moderate* supplements, made necessary nowadays because our soils are depleted of many elements that amply nourished our grandparents - selenium is just one well-known example, but don't stop there! Mobic can be a temporarily amazing "rescue" - but it just masks these deficiencies we have, which only get worse under its physically costly relief of our pain - and gaining weight is only an "undisguisable" sign that the development of metabolic syndrome is well underway...until the Mobic disguise is removed!

I have been taking meloxicam for about a year and have gained 50 plus pounds. So, just out of curiosity...what did your doctor tell you to take now? I had no idea this stuff can cause congestive heart! ,If I had known, I. Never would have started taking it!
