Would love to hear any postive hemorrhoidectomy experiences..my surgery is quickly approaching!

yeah am sure i will need some rest .. hope my company will understand my situation ... so when did u go back to work?
ah what about bleeding ? when did it stop? i mean did u had some every time u had BM?
am sure i will be loosing some weight as i usually do once am sick .. (( hate that but nothing to do about it, did u lose some?
as u told me that i need just to let it dry ..i guess water and taking shower .. will not affect the area or the healing or the stitches.. right?

am really waiting for the day i will be posting here that am 3 weeks post op check-up too and feeling better ....

I am lucky that I am self-employed. At 2 weeks you should be fine...I would just want longer than a week. You will probably be ok...I was just weak from laying down a lot. I only lost about 3 pounds. But I am little already..so to me that's a lot. I'm sure I've already gained it back.
I had bleeding with my first bm...nothing major. It stopped soon as I finished with my first bm. It only happened like 3 times over the 3 week period. Doctor said it was completely normal. My surgery is different than yours though...mine was for internal. I was bleeding a lot before my surgery..now I am like a whole new person. I go to the bathroom...no blood!!

I rinse off in the shower after every bm...then sit in the bath. Baths are really good to help the healing process! You will need to take lots of baths. & buy a sitz bath...they may give you one at the hospital. It will be really helpful. You can get them at most drug stores. The warm water helps more than anything.

So, how long after hemorrhoidectomy should you wait to have SEX? My surgery is in about 2 weeks. Getting more nervous by the day, so any tips would be great!
