|
|
Hello there!
Yesterday I had my first gyno appointment. The doc found out that I have an excess hymenal remnant. It seems like I’ll need to cut it via surgery because it is really painful.
I’m really scared about surgery thoughts. If anyone of you here experienced this, please respond to this topic.
Thank you!

Hi Jami
I just had surgery to remove excess hymen remenants. I am in Toronto and had the proceedure done in my Hospital's Colposcopy Clinic. The proceedure took half and hour and I was on my way home to rest. I was awake with only local freezing so I got to watch. It was not too bad, the worst part was the itching when the stitches were healing. I had it done on Jan 25 (last tuesday) and I am almost completely healed now. I got 4 remnants cut. Only one stitch stubornly remains. No sex yet but hopefully I will have the nerve to try this weekend with my hubby.
what did you decide to do about yours? |

| i'm 17. i had sex about 8 months ago, it did not hurt until my boyfriend at the time tried to push right inside me. this hurt ALOT and it felt like there was a barrier stopping him entering me fully. i have had sex a lot since but my boyfriend still hasn't been able to enter me which sucks cause sex would be great without the pain. i do not feel any discomfort or anything like that unless a penis is pushing onto what i think is my thick unbreakable hymen which won't break. i want to go and see a doctor but i know i will die of embarrasment and i don't want to tell my parents cause .. yeah, obvious reasons, arghh meep help!!! |

|

I am 19 yrs old and have not been able to have vaginal intercourse, insert a tampon, or complete a gyno exam. I have been to a few doctors and for a while I thought I had vaginismus. But recently my doctor told me I had a prominent hymen which could not be broken on my own. I experience intolerable pain when even a Q-tip is inserted into my vagina. I am getting an ultrasound to make sure I am alright, anatomically and then I will have the hymenectomy.
Just wondering if anyone out there has had a similar experience because I feel like a freak because my vagina has been broken my entire life. |

hey.
i had sex last year for the first time. my boyfriend said there was blood on the condom. i have sex now frequently, but my boyfriend cannot insert his penis fully inside me as he feels there is a barrier stopping him going any further. this is really painful for me and i don't know what is blocking him from penetrating me. i'm sooo scared about going to a doctor cause i'm so embarrased :[!
it cannot be the hymen can it? not that far inside me...cause i thought hymens were just at the opening of the vagina not roughly 5 inches inside it?
i'm confused PLEASE help .

ihateyourface, I think you'll find that what you're experiencing is not anything to do with your hymen.
If you are experiencing pain about five inches inside you, he's hitting your cervix. The average vagina is approximately five inches long when you're aroused, and if your boyfriend's penis is longer than this, it just means that his penis is hitting your cervix, which is quite painful.
You just need to find a different position, or tell him that you're in pain. No amount of thrusting is going to help - your cervix marks the end of your vagina.
More foreplay to ensure you are fully aroused can expand your vagina a little, but it probably won't allow him to get all the way in.
This is totally normal, by the way! |

| i have never been able to put a tampon in without excruciating pain, but recently i have discovered a opening in my hymen and i have been stretching it daily... i think this is helping a little, but if not then i might have to have surgery. what is the hymenectomy procedure like? |

| i'm 18, never been able to do anything either. i went to my doctor only yesterday and she did an exam which hurt a little but was ok and then she told me that my hymen is quite tough and so i'm being referred to a gyno in jan and she will do a hymenectomy. apparently it's really simple and will get rid of the problem. there's nothing else i can personally think of that i could do about it. so go to a gyno! it's not that embarassing, because it's their job, for them it's like looking into a throat, they do it every day. |
