In 2003 I had realized that having sex the natural way was impossible. After visiting the doctor, they confirmed that i had a thick hymen and a hymenectomy was an option. I took that option. The doctor told me on my check up that i needed to take three baths a day at least. Being as busy and ashamed as i was, i maybe took one bath a day. I took it easy like he told me to, ie. not running or springing up the stairs, sitting easily...but this many years later, my boyfriend noticed scars. What could have caused these scars? Is it normal? Or is it because i didn't take three baths a day? Was it from having a 1 1/2 year break between my first partener to my boyfriend now?

The scarring is left by the surgery.

A scar is cells not healing properly. Usually you have scars is because severe damage is usually hard to heal. But sometimes I have a really small cut. And it became a scar. Just how the body works. I don;t know about taking baths 3 times a day. But scars could be that your hymen were ripped sometime. Did you bleed? Sometimes it can break without bleeding. You could break your hymen like having exercise. Maybe thats why he told you not to run up and spring around. Thick hymens normally bleeds and cause pain in sex. Maybe having baths would moisturize your hymen so that its more flexible to avoid rupturing it. But should you be afraid of a scar? To make you feel better go back to that Doctor about it. And tell him to give you an explanation of his prescription.
